  1. I'm going overseas because it's the shortest route I can think of to get a degree and come back to work ASAP to support my mother. people who know me better will know the precarious situation I am in, and I sometimes wonder why am I spending even more money on the reeftank. wolfie...nah it's okay. don't take this as an attack, but I personally find the mass comm dip in ngee ann to be a bit overhyped. which is why I decided to go overseas to pursue a dip and deg. like I said before, it's a matter of perception. but having seen one too many pseudo intellects running around, it really kinda turns you off. sad, but true. ryan...your A level results should be good enough to get you to an Aussie uni. don't need to do foundation or Dip part 1/2. waste of time, unless you are attempting to enter a course that your A Level results doesn't qualify you for. lightningstrike/Rumor...I see what you guys mean. when I was at Perth, the pace of life was too slow and agonising for me to tahan. not that I should be complaining, since my main priority is to study and not to enjoy myself. but at the end of the day, I got bored of Perth after four days and I wanted to drive back up to Melbourne desperately. *we flew back to Melbourne in the end. * to the rest... make your decisions wisely. going to Australia, be it for education or just to get cheap cars, will put a HUGE dent in your parent's pocket. unless you have loads of moral fibre and work your guts out like what Rumor did to pay for his own rent and studies, I think the main emphasis should be on education, rather than the way of life there. or the babes for that matter. I myself will be taking up a loan which will probably cripple me financially for a while when I come out to work, but it's a risk and a possibility that I have to undertake. so before you go, make sure that your parents are completely fine with it. not nice to go there and enjoy yourself whilst studying, whilst your parents struggle to make ends meet down here. unless you are in a LPPL situation. but...for your sake, I hope not. PS...lightningstrike...I may end up selling my tank. my mother may be taking a posting to Thailand for up to two years when I'm in Aussie Land. gee.
  2. aiyah. stuff like that happens in football. look at the hand of God goal by Maradonna. so yah...what to do. I'm a Man Utd fan, but I must say I'm impressed with Arsenal's feat of unbeaten games. on the other hand, if Arsenal should do something to their squad, it's to buy another goalkeeper. Lehmann is too much of a liability if you ask me.
  3. I'm a Man Utd fan. I want to say Man Utd but seriously. gee. the prospects are rather dim. I think it'll be a draw. as usual. and if it's a win, it'll probably be a 1-0 sorta win.
  4. wah lau. within six months, loads of stuff happened to you siah. tank crash lah. then typhoon hit there lah. then earthquake lah. you better come home soon. so that you can sell me your rics.
  5. I suppose it's a matter of perception at the end of the day. like I said, I don't like Perth because it's too boring for me. for my own preference. it may differ from people to people. I know of some people who find Melbourne too boring. one friend even told me Sydney was a sleepy village compared to where he came from in the UK. so yah. it's all about individual preference. (=
  6. cannot lah. with my kenna langah face and my kenna bang type of voice, confirm will appear during auditions as one of the biggest laughing stocks. even bigger than banana man.
  7. eh you okay there? just heard on the news.
  8. mine is a little bit more complicated. I need to do some sort of pathway before I do the actual degree....which is why I'm doing it with Monash College, then onto Monash Uni for their degree. Dip in Arts and Human Communication and Deg in Arts and Human Communications. to put it in a less fanciful terminology, Dip and Deg in Mass Communication. and if I get accepted, I'll be starting the Dip program in 2005 Feb/March and finishing my degree and all by 2008 Jun latest.
  9. eh but the saving grace of OETI is the CHICKEN WINGS at the canteen. wah lau the CHICKEN WINGS. the MEE SOTO. the ROTI JOHN.
  10. Murdoch is well known for it's mass communications degree and vet science if I'm not mistaken. most friends that are in Murdoch are either mass comm students, or medical students *human and vet medical*
  11. THAT'S CHEAP for a Heuer. which model is it? you can't search by model numbers on the website.
  12. yes, my exact sentiments. it's not really about the happening place package, but more of the environment it offers in terms of exposure and lifestyle opportunities. not to mention industrial attachment chances. for me, Sydney is too expensive, Queensland is too commercialised, so Melbourne it is. I can choose Adelaide too but I'll be bored to death there. wolfie...when you going? and what course you intending to pursue?
  13. well he doesn't have a choice yes. but it's better than not informing him? or letting him know about the perils of SAF Armour? (=
  14. I tried playing FPS games for extended periods of time, but once the hour mark reaches I will make my way to the toilet to throw up what I had for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  15. I wanted Murdoch. but. I just couldn't bring myself to sign on their pathways *Taylor's or Murdoch College or WAFUY* the thought of Perth just turns me off. which is why I'm choosing Monash. hope they accept me. just got accepted by Deakin. hmm. I'm particular about the location and the idea of me studying in Perth is like getting marooned on an island with books around me. plus maybe a shopping centre. that's all. I may be painting a very bad picture, but that is how I feel about Perth in general. which is why I chose Melbourne. it's nearer to Sydney, a lot more happening than Perth any day, and ten times less boring. the same hinderance of shops closing at 5 is still there, but at least there is night life there in the forms of clubs and party areas. Perth also have, but proportionately smaller. anyway, above is just my personal and humble opinion. please don't shoot me down. (= Rumor and lightningstrike graduate long time ago liao. no longer there. but I know they had their tertiary education done there. (=
  16. no offence to any Risen Christ church members, but I think the whole of that church is behind Christopher. I think he's from Risen Christ lah....not too sure.
  17. apart from lightningstrike and Rumor...anybody else? need a little inside info in terms of the way of life, the feel of the education system and the general environment. preferably Melbourne... thanks. (=
  18. how about the issue of finding a motor or something that allows it to run 24/7 under saltwater conditions?
  19. hmm thank you. went to Scotts to eat/park instead. stayed there for one hour exactly and it cost me $2. no need to pay ERP as well. hehz.
  20. try not to concentrate too hard on the monitor and try not to stare that much. as in.....don't stare at the monitor. look at it in a relaxed manner. if that fails, try Sims 2.
  21. who ever said anything about playing it? I don't like FPS mah. but can always sell it away. but seriously, if I did get a FPS game as a gift, I'll probably give it away as well. =(
  22. any cure for it? have. gimme the game. but seriously, a brighter place may or may not work. it doesn't work for me. try adjusting the gamma levels on the monitor. and if all else fails, don't play FPS type games. I don't play those type of games because of motion sickness being induced by playing such games. =(
