Cool. How many LEDs did u used? I tried mine last nite (halfway through) and what I did is I target my LED to shine down at some of my corals. Look pretty cool but there will be some area that will not get the light. Cheers JC

Dun mind me commenting. Ur air tube is drilled on the base of the holder? IF so, u might have a problem with the residue from ur kalk solution. Normally, we will let the Kalk mix settle for a while b4 start dripping to avoild getting the residue into the main tank. Maybe u can drill a hole like 3" above the base on the side instead. Juz my 2 cent. JC

I'm sure you have read those pin thread, kindly pls do so as the basic in starting are all there. A gd book in the library will also be benefically. My opinion only on your questions. 1) How big a tank should I get? I'll go for 4ft. Minium 3ft. Personally think that more width is better than longer tank. If I'm to start my tank now, I'll go 4(lenght) x 2.5 (width) x 2.5(height). 2) Should I go fish-only first to 'break-in' the tank before going corals? Its gd idea to start wif FOWLR for at least 1st 6 months. During that period, you will realise that there are still many things to learn. At the meantime, start reading about corals keeping skills. 3) How important is lightings? FOWLR lights requirement is low. If u intend to keep coral or even SPS in future, invest in a gd lights like MH or T5. 4) How much money do I have to spend on a decent setup? Difficult to answer this, it all depends on ur setup and equipment. Hope this helps abit JC

Will keep you update on my process. IF you use white LED, wun it affect ur corals and fishes since moonlight are normally bluish? ben, I have been reading up on a few of the amercian forum and conclusion is that moonlight's spectrum are between 470nm and 480nm. However, when I go down to sim lim tower, many of the shops are not able to tell me the actual spectrum of the LEDS. In the end, bought the Ultra Blue LED at $1.50 for a pair. Cheers JC

I'll be using Ultra Blue LEDs and did a dry run on my tank and realised that the blue leds will create some rays of blue ligths that is aestactically beautiful. Cheers JC

You should still cycle as you might still have some dieoff due to transportation and handling. Maybe ur cycle period will be shorter. If I'm you, I'll cycle for a wk then test the water parameter to confirm. Cheers JC
