Thanks for sharing cool_anakin. You mentioned that you have macro-algea in ur sump. Since, Macro-algea is also a natural nitrate exporter, it maybe difficult to really test the effectiveness of your DSB in this case. Btw, how long has your DSB been setup? 1) Most Goby 2) Jawfish 3) A certain starfish??? 4) Wrasse (minus six-line) 5) Sea Cucumber 6) ???

I found this thread where AT did response on DSB issue. AN extract of what he had wrote; "Anyway for a DSB to be actually effective.. it should occupy the same horizontal surface as the main tank.... so unless you have a sump tank the same size as your main tank... it won't do its job." You will defnitely need more LR imho since you not having sump or any filter. Totally dependent on ur bio-filter which is your LR. You sure u only intend to keep just 4-5" of fish? This means only 1 or 2 small fish. You planning for a full reef tank? Can't wait to see how it will be like, must be cool. Cheers
