  1. Maybe u are right. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Di...d=22&pCatId=611 Actually, it can be a cup coral too.
  2. This should be a xenia. Maybe u should advise ur hubsand to not buy stuff without knowing it in the 1st place. May one day buy something not compatible for ur tank. Juz my 2 cts. JC
  3. In this case, the black scopas is a grab then. Rem to post it pic if u get it. nvr seen such a mutant b4
  4. Actually, I tot it is nicer than a pure black tang. Depends on indvidual actually. Btw, wat cause the price of the black tang to be so expensive? Shippment? Harvesting?
  5. I could not really remember the black tang in CF in details. But I can be sure that the tang has the common stripes/pattern that is commonly found on scopas tang (I got a brown/scopas tnag from CF). Interesting, when I ask them on why the black tang has the stripes, they mention that some rare black tang does have them. One thing for sure, it is definitely not as black as the one bro roidan has. Sorry, I was not able to confirm much cause it is defintiely out of my budget. Spent on time on selecting my scopas tang.
  6. Thks for the confirmation, bro roidan.
  7. Check it out with Ian, he's a sponsor here and has a thread too.
  8. Did u see the black tang also??? I think they wrote its $300 on the tank. Is it really a black tang or scopas cose I saw it also have the scopas body lines but is totally black.
  9. Saw the Scopas Black tang and AT at CF. Maybe u will be interested in them.
  10. Saw the scopas balck tang in CF, very nice. IMHO, nicer than many black tang. If only I print $$.... The AT there is also very nice, Anyone looking 4 a gd AT that is feeding can try this. but defintely not cheap.
  11. Does it means that coral will only consume calcium if it grows. That explains why SPS need lots of calcium then. hmm...
  12. Read in another thread that AZ-NO3 will decrease ORP. Use with care. Maybe the drop in the oxygen level affected the fish?
  13. That's wat I tot also. Juz dun understand how come my calcium does not get used up by my LPS and soft coral. Suspected that saltmix does has calcium contend enough to substain my corals calcium usage. Read somewhere that LPS and soft coral does not take much calcium. Any coral guru can advice? Currently, I have; 1) hammer 2) frogspawm, 3) bubble & pearl bubble 4) Blue sea Fan 5) Blastomussa 6) Yuma 7) Florida 8) common mushroom 9) buttons 10) Brain (4pieces) 11) Elegant Thanks JC
  14. In another sense, changing water will reduce the calcium level because calcium are been removed? Just wondering, will the salt miz that we use have any calcium contend in them? Anyone know?
  15. My CBS aka boxer have nvr attack my Skunk, Peppermint, Harlequin shrimp. The most they will try pinching those shrimp when they ventured into their territory. I have a pair of CBS. Maybe ur shrimp is killed by something else and boxer is juz finishing up wat is left over? A cleaner shrimp instinct? Juz sharing my experience. Cheers JC
  16. Hi arcanehacker, Thanks for the prompt reply. Btw, wat do u mean by "reset"? Will water changing increase or decrease the calcium in the tank? I have been doing water changes frequently. Do not wan to stress my LS unnecessary by doing a 30%. Cheers JC
  17. I uses CoralLife Salt and does add the small packet of solution once in a while, ~ 1 pack for every 2 pack of salt used. As for Kalk dosing, I had since stopped for more than 3 months liao.
  18. Hi, I have been monitoring my tank calcium level for a couple of months and realise that my calcium level does not seems to drop. I'm using the salifert testkit. My tank is a ~250litre running on cannister. LS are mainly LPS and soft coral. No SPS. Is it normal or could it really be the test kit problem (I got it from edmund, shouldn't have expired)? I had since stop dosing kalk and top up now is only freshwater when i tested that my calcium is over 500. Water changes ard 10% bi-monthly. Tank Parameters; NH3/4 = 0 NO2 = 0 NO3 = ~30 pH = 8.2 AlK = ~9.2 Temp = ~26.5 Calcium = ~550 Phosphate = ~0.5 (trying to reduce it now) Is it possible that the calcium level not dropping? Any advice? JC
  19. Main difficulty on bubble will be the handling part. Rem to not injure the coral when u transferring it, do not move it when its fully expand. Provide low to medium current. My bubble enjoy more lights than less.
  20. My personal experience on lps based on diffcuity on care (easliest to hardest); 1) Green Polyp 2) Maze 3) Brain 4) Hammer 5) Frogspawn 6) Bubble 7) Pearl Bubble 8) Elegant Cheers
  21. Wow. U sure have a rare "gem" in ur tank. Cool!
