    Return Pump to use

Can advise me where u got urs? If possible pm me the price also. Need to do some valuation.
  5. I beleive its normal for fishes to find a hiding place to rest. All my fishes does that. Need protection from predator (although absent in most of our tank), a fish instinct?

    Return Pump to use

Hi AT, How do we know if a pump is pressure rated? Spec doesn't seems to indicate or maybe I juz dun understand them. Beside Iwaski and Resun (both external pump), is any of the submersible pump mention here is pressure rated? Actually, you have brought up one of my main consideration when designing my sump. To reduce the no. of powerhead for flow in main tank. That's why I wanted to have resun MD 40 in the beginning. JC

    Return Pump to use

Just done some calculation on my head loss in RC, its ~3.11. Due to my cabinet constraint, I can't have a external pump. Actually wanted to use resun for its pressure rate but too bad. I have no or not much info on below pumps that were brought up here, are they external or internal pump? Laguna Utility pump 5 Rena Flow 6000 Now my choice is down to these; 1) AquaBee 3000>45W>3000L/Hr centrifugal pump 230 V/ 45 watt, max power: 3000 l/h, max head: 2,4 m/WS Dimensions: L/W/H: 9,5 (incl.connector 14,0 cm) x 8,0 x 9,5 cm (incl.connector 13,7 cm), connection suction side and pressure side 16/22, the delivery is incl. Intake strainer and holder for mounting the pump at the aquarium glass. The pump can be operated inside or outside of the aquarium. It can be used for fresh water as well as for marine water aquariums. 2) Eheim 1262>80W>3400L/Hr OR doesn't sounds reliable (dun wan to take risk) and Sicce seems to be underpower (2500L/hr) only. Tend to lean on the Aqubee for its power comsumption. Should save some substantial $$ in long run. Anyone using or used this pump before? ANy comments JC
  11. Hi Guys, This thread is actually a "spin off" from another thread in "equipment" section. As I'm currently working on a return pump for my sump and has narrowed to below few pump, will like to hear fellow reefers comments and opinion on which is the most cost effective and reliable pump (personal opinion are welcome). AquaBee 3000>39W>3000L/Hr AquaMedic OR3500>65W>3500L/Hr Eheim 1262>80W>3400L/Hr Sicce Extrema>35W>2800L/Hr Personally, thought Aqueebee seems to be a gd choice considering its 39W with a flow of 300L/hr and cheaper than AquaMedic OR. Cheers JC
  12. Great to know your plan. T5 for 1.5ft height will definitely be gd enough for your SPS. Imagine the combination of MH with T5. The results will be very interesting. The only problem will be always fragging and fragging on your fast growing SPS which I beleive many bro and Sis here will gladly get from you. 1.5hp chiller?! Wow. I guess it will definitely run much lesser since T5 emit less heat and you are going to run 2 x 6" fan. Electric bill should go down. Maybe you can consider downgrading to a 0.5hp chiller too? Just becareful on the thickness. Better be safe than sorry. Just my 2cts JC
  13. Guys, you have to accept the digital cert from NAxo's server. Btw, NAxo, u in military Org?
  14. Welcome to SRC, NAx0. Nice tank you have there. Luv that green monti cap. Hope to see you around more often. Cheers JC
  15. Ever tot of using pvc to create the gap instead? Juz my 2cts. JC
  16. Any reason for leaving a gap behind the rocks? Nice tank you have now.
  17. Wow. look at the polyp extension.
  18. Yes. Got the pic from there. Think below one from Indo, indeed look dark brown. Almost cannot see the two spot and blue ring. Beautiful fish, i must say.
  19. The Two-spot Bristletooth is orange-brown with fine blue lines. It has blue eyes, blue spots on the head and thorax and a black spot at the rear base of the dorsal and ###### fins. If its really a twospot, the blue ring around the eyes should develop as it matures. :
  20. Somehow it seems like the chromis are having difficulty coping with the current. Hardly move around unlike the bigger blue tang.
  21. I think my old poly project more complicated than this.
  22. Hi Bwilly, U added to tunze 6060? Can show a pic? I was thinking of adding one to my tank but is worried abt the sandstorm. U dun get sandstorm with two tunze running? Cheers JC
  23. Wat cause the cannister to fail? Regards JC
