Hey, Does high Nitrates affect fish colorations? I have my fox face and Sailfin Tang that seem to have pale color for the past 1 year. Anyway, my Nitrate is above 40ppm. Have been trying to reduce to at least 10ppm(better yet, 0) for months but to no avail.

Ur Emperor Angel needs a lot of swimming space and it will also outgrow ur tank very fast. Same goes as ur batfish. Please do more research before u get anymore Livestock or people at this forum will flame you. Cheers.

Hi bro, the swollen eyes u referring to is most likey to be pop-eye disease cause by poor water quality. But the swollen mouth u talking abt could be an parasite infection etc. I've experience the pop-eye disease from my Clarkii Clown before and it heals after a week of 10% water changes (alternate days) and feed em nutritious food like Mysis soak in Garlic, Formula 2 pellet and Dr. Bassler's Bio food. Hope this helps!

Why not try fake corals?

I use to have Weipro SA2011 running with 2000ltr PH on my 3ft tank. Maybe u want to try more powerful pump, like Ehiem or aquabee pump for ur weipro. I use a lousy brand and it did not give me good result.

Hmm, mines got a black spot too. Since my tank is a FOWLR, i got no idea where it got it.

I bought that crappy skimmer 2 months ago. It skim normally for the first 3 days then it failed on me till now. I quickly upgraded to Aqua medic Biostar flotor and very happy with the results. Maybe you would want to wait for another week(or so) for the skimmer to break in. Who knows maybe you could be the lucky ones to get the skimmer up and running. Goodluck!
