hi peihao, i suggest you get a professional to help you set up the tank. as a first timer, you will have to go through a lot of pain just to get started on the hobby. at the end, you will probably spend more money lossing lots of livestock and buying either unnecessary or incorrectly sized eqpt. worse still, it will make you so demoralized that you will want to gve up the hobby.

if your tank is matured, meaning the bacteria culture is in place, there is no need to monitor. anyway, if nitrite level is too high, you will definitely know coz all your livestock will start dying one after another. the best bet is to constantly dose bacteria coz bacteria will convert nitrite to nitrate automatically.

hi bro jameshong, i don't have much knowledge of electrical engineering but i am thinking of trying out a diy led project myself. i hope this is not too much to ask, but is it possible for you to provide some description and perhaps even a schematic diagram to explain how to put together a led lighting system like yours? it will go a long way to helping fellow reefers like myself embark on similar diy projects. thanking you in advance.

bro, u have to try other products to determine what works for u. I use Prodibio's CalciReef+ and AlkaReef+ and have no problem keeping my calcium at optimal level. It's easy to use too cos u can calculate how much to dose based on how much u want to raise your ca.
