in case any LFS mistaken us again. it's not about hydor vs tunze etc. its about wave makers as a whole seio, sun sun etc. all brands welcome. i'm not using everything branded as well. as mentioned in my earlier post i using a seio too problem is i dun even have at least 2 years to use the K4. leak on me after 1 year generally, better use of materials and construction of the equipments will determine the end quality of the product. as the saying goes " there no cheap and good". cheers

hey law you are back. the tunze i got from you is more direct flow so i "aim" it on to one of the top portion rock and the flow spread a little more. glad we back to topic and not IFs.

bro Vtec please don't get personal. i never say you rich or poor reefer. my post said it might be worth while to get something good for long term benefit and investment. everyone know this and i'm sure they will upgrade when there a chance or when year end bonus coming along. to enjoy the hobby better and the tank mates happier. as regards to how we know its electric leak. by putting your hand in the tank and you be able to feel the current. test by unplugging the pumps etc 1 by 1. this how the seniors here teach me. unless there a better way to test cos tried test pen doesnt pick up anything and to double ensure that its the K4, i put it into a water and test again and got a shock. i suppose i'm not so foolish to risk my life just for sake of getting back at anyone or brand? i do agree with bro thomas we talking about wave maker here not any particlar LFS and wave maker brands is not exclusive to any LFS. just like we know every new generation of iphone have some glitches and we sharing experiences online. i suppose by doing this we not targetting at apple epic shop. rite? we should not bring in any LFS to this wavemaker discussion tread otherwise it will kena lock again

brom i checked the instruction manual eheim 1260 can be use in or out sump. hope fellow reefer can give more concrete answers.

bro we talking bout wave maker in one of the tread here. something you might want to consider, quite few of us experience hydor K series wave maker leaking electric. yet to try the new model so cant comments. using seio and tunze now so far so good. hope to change all to tunze soon

bro u very funnie. exchange and sold it immediately. tthe guys at RD told me need to take out and maintain too. guess it same for all equipments need to maintain. glad you found something good for you. happy reefing

ya forgot this. after so long one of the most important thing i learnt is for marine best to invest in better equipment brands if you can afford it. cheaper brand work but not for long run and they might consume more electricity. brands like deltec, eheim, aquabee, red dragon etc are pretty reliable. slowly upgrade, worthwhile to get them in pasar malam too. HTH.

no idea manz, just dump it immediately once i discovered it leak electric. if it isolated case never mind now i know its not. metal shaft or not is non issue. putting aside manufacturing faults, shouldn't happen at all esp if it is wave maker meant for inside water. just try avoid getting this brand wave maker liao.

bros i dunno tot i happened to be unlucky oni. didn't know its a common issues... now i know i'm not isolated case. was really disappointed when i found out it was hydor was expecting it to be taiwan or china pumps. anyway, better to stick with more establish brand as the china brand might be cheaper but i discovered they suck in more wattage.

ya true for tunze is more direct unless getting the controller version. for resale suppose tunze will be able to fetch higher resale value like deltec. there always better chance of selling it at better price compared to skimz, reef octopus. i guess its you pay for what you getting. no cheap and good.

i've hydor leak electric after 1 year usage. anyone experience this issues? heard happened to some reefers too. was really surprise cos italian brand suppose to be pretty reliable even my seio outlast the hydor K4...

its true that it depend on individual fish characters. i've experience powder blue that is extremely shy and extremely aggressively. feel that tank size is a factor too, for bigger tank they can "escape" to another territory.

i not into the idea of giving it to any LFS for you may never know if they resell and make some money from it as you know times are bad so many monkey tricks around to earn that few pennnies. trade or give it to any fellow reefers who can take care of the it or really need the items.
