Upgrading ur equipments is a proper approach but as i mentioned (lighting, water conditions... etc) meaning there r still other factors to be taken into consideration. Do u knw tat the cup coral (Turbinaria spp) require moderate lighting combined with moderate water movement within the aquarium. It will also require the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water. Tats y some research and reading up will be good. Btw, it will also benefits from feeding with BS or planktonic food. U r buyin w/o goin into details of whether how well they can or cannot be sustained in ur system (remember u wanna buy sharks sometime back)

Hi bro, would suggest u do some readup on the corals tat interest u and at the same time chk if ur system can meet their requirement (eg, lighting> and definitely not FL, water condition etc)

WBD are yet to be determined by sciencetist but disease in corals is caused by a number of micro-organisms including bacteria, fungi, and cyanobacteria. Under normal conditions, corals co-exist happily with microbes which are abundant in the marine environment. However, when corals are stressed by high temperatures, increased nutrient concentrations or sediment, these microbes may cause disease. WBD would be more like STN coz the tissue receeding slowly unlike RTN which is instantaneously.
