There is a wall that has an imprint of a person who stood infront of the wall when the blast occured. That person never made it but his human form was imprinted on that wall. Imagine that.

all it takes is just 1 mozzie to lay it's egg and voila!

Guys, do a search on all his posting. Southpaw23 has highlighted a few points in his reply.

Alan, where does this occur, main tank or sump or both of the same time? Also is there a difference if using a 4 inch dsb and a 6 inch dsb? Would a deeper dsb last longer than a 4 inch dsb? Newbie alert!

I believe nicholas needs more info pertaining keeping a marine tank. Since he posted the pics showing his tank, he would also have to accept whatever remarks that come his way, good or bad. Also there are other experienced reefer out there who are quite shocked and dismay seeing the condition of the LS in Nicholas tank. By providing some info and remark, they would expect Nicholas to heed to their free advice. Nicholas, do accept their advice. You are still young and have many more years ahead of you. You are also lucky too to have this forum to learn from. There are not many 14 year old who could start this hobby. Be mindful in replying to the elder here. They are not like your school buddy where you can yell at if you are angry. You are here to learn more about this hobby.

Yes they use sand but a different grade than beach sand. They also use water and some mould. The sand will be placed in the mould and will be compacted with a machine that you might have seen during road construction. Kinda like a drill jack or something but with a flat head. Water is added periodically according to the sculpture preference. Not too much or it will be too heavy for a tall sculpture. When they took off the mould, the sand will be very compacted but not too hard like a concrete. They then scrape off the sand to the desired shape and size. Hope this helps!

I think there's a product whereby you place this product on your stand leg and just push the whole tank and stand around. But I do not know the weight limitation of it. It's supposed to be use on furniture and cupboard. I do not know the brand or name of it but try looking around. Saw it once advertised on tv.

Bro, I did the hardest way. I transfer the whole tank with the arowana still inside it. The height of the water inside that tank was a bit higher than the height of my arowana. It was a silver arowana and gave it away together with the tank to my relative. It took ard 6 guys to transfer the whole tank from the 2nd storey down to the carpark and up the lorry. That was ard 8yrs back. Now that I had moved to a higher storey, 11th floor up, I dread if I should have to move house again, now that I have 3 planted tank. Er and no I did not use the 'sleeping medicine'. Hope this helps somehow.

Some fw fishes such as swordtail and guppy do consume the oily layers found on the water surface of a planted tank. As for algae, there are some sp that do consume certain algae. In comparison, I find marine using more electrical consumption then freshwater tanks. Equipment wise, more are used for marine than freshwater. This is what I had found out when doing my research on marine. I decided then to not start a marine tank as the power consumption for the size of tank that I wanted can actually powered a couple of planted tank. Pls do not flame me coz this is what I had found out. Everybody has his own taste and my reply is not intended to potray which is better. But I would still log into this forum to learn more about the marine hobby and to see if I could use some marine equipment for freshwater tank use. For example, the TUBBY top up water system could be use for planted tank too. And also Ian's I-box creation could be use for freshwater hobbyist who are breeding their fishes, using 2-tier tank. Just my humble opinion.

Corals Of The World? Will keep a lookout for that. What about marine fishes? Any must have atlas to recommend me? Shiraz, I chose the nick years ago when I had stumbled on my 1st forum for planted tank. Been using this nick since then. Yes, I've read Roald Dahl but that was during my schooling years. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi guys and gals! Can anyone here recommend me which books to get for identification of various marine critters and corals? Is the Baensch Marine Atlas series (1/2/3) will be enough and covers all of the critters and corals? I don't want to get the 1st books of the series and having problem looking for the other 2 books. Thanks in advance!

It is said that the witchking cannot be killed by man. Hobbits are not man, in a sense. If a man strike, it wouldn't harm the witchking.
