Borrower always got good story to tell. Like my case. I was promoted and was transferred to another department. Got this 1 short guy was assigned to me 1 day. I think he knew I was new to the department and ask me for some money, saying wife need it for surgery. Since I was new to the department, I lend him coz I will see him everyday. Weeks becomes months and end of the year when bonus were handed out, he tell another story saying grandma got plot of land for sale in Malaysia, waiting for the cheque to clear by the lawyer. When he said that, I knew I wouldn't get my money back. I did ask around and he had a bad reputation of never paying back. So I also follow his style loh and tell the whole department about me being cheated by him. When he approach anyone to even borrow $10, my colleague would tell him to return my money 1st then he can borrow. Nowaday he avoided eye contact from me. Serve him right.

Shoelevy, how come your friend know you got money? Next time, just tell anyone whom may want to borrow some large amount of cash that you are saving up to buy some equipment for the tank lah. You must let your circle of friend know that running a marine tank 'waste' money. If they ask why you go into it, just say that you were bitten by the hobby bug. That will turn them away from you.

I have to say this. Blueheaven, what if the help you and your friend extend back fired? Could it be that why they changed the maintenance crew was due to cost? They might know the cost of setting a tank but the hidden cost may not have been known until the tank was started or something bad happened. In my opinion, the Suntec management may not have any idea what are the cost to keep that tank running eg salt mix, electricity consumption, maintenance cycle etc,etc. And it happen that you and your friend approach them and recommend more stuff to be changed in the name of improvement. The cost from their earlier estimate might have doubled or more! They might blame you for the escalating cost and ultimately this forum might be caught up in the fiasco. I would humbly suggest not to get involved until things have settled. But if you really want to help the Suntec management, maybe ask them what do they want from the current setup. Do not wet your hand unti lyou have ascertain what is happening in the background. Try to get the full story 1st.

Not siding with the staff but put yourself in their shoes. Here she is trying to do her job. You saw her hurrying in and out of the stall right? Why then did you approached her asking her to find a table for you? I do not know the place you speak of but in my mind it is a typical market eateries right? There are no person in that type of eateries who would help you 'reserve' a table for you. Yes, in this type of eateries area, you must queue up to order your food. This place is not like a high class restaurant whereby you have a waiter/waitress who would come to you and take your order. No way. In this type of place, you are free to seat anywhere there is a table and stool and order from any hawker. If you want comfort of ordering, find a seat nearest to the stall that you want to order the food from. The staff was right about the portion order too. How in the world does she is able to know how many people eat how much steamboat food? It is up to the person ordering the food to decide for himself and his entourage. She was concentrating with her work up to that point until a chap ask her how much food portion his family could eat? Don't you think that is a bit silly? Not a bit but it's full blown silliness I'd say. The guy who was probably behind that chap was thinking" Basket, is this guy real or what? 1st time eating outside, must ask the hawker how much can eat? Why must I stand behind him? Oh Heaven, why do you put me in this situation!" Btw, I am not related nor do I know the hawker staff, the person ordering the food nor the guy standing behind him. I was also not near that area too at any time.
