  1. Look at the cone skimmer from Reef Octopus. One pump operation skimmer. Get the biggest model you can afford and can fit in the sump so that you do not need to upgrade again.
  2. The problem with celebrity is that they PROJECT what they want you to see or to know about them, kind of a false image. When this barrier falls, all kind of stuff appears, good or bad. Actors, to them, the world is a stage.
  3. Gonna save a lot money that was needed to replace 8x54w T5 tube every year. :eyebrow:
  4. For that tank size, do not get the Deltec APF600, definitely under powered as I experienced. You could go high end ( Bubble King )or mid end ( Deltec or Reef Octopus 2009 model and above ). Big skimmer will have big collection cup, something to look into. If electrical consumption is a main concern, get one which operate on a single pump only, which draw water into the skimmer and add bubbles into the water column in the skimmer. After you consider these 2 points then you can set the budget. I am using a Bubble King SuperMarin SM250 for my tank which is quite similar dimension to yours. Quite ex but I could not upgrade as this is at max already for my tank. Low power consumption which was why I choose this model after upgrading from the Deltec APF600. Take your time to consider getting which skimmer or else you're going to spend more money upgrading.
  5. Faint liao, cannot see the back of this equipment whether it accept our local 2 pin and 3 pin plug. But looking at the price, it could be meant for other use instead of the American DJ thingy. In our country don't have shops that sells DJ stuff and thingy?
  6. I've read about it in the diy section at reef central about diying a RD pump from a laguna pump. But maybe I could be wrong though. Also, the output is too powerful and our skimmer might not have the chance to properly skim the water as it flow past the feed pump. I think a 8000lt/hr pump is the limit for a 4ft tank like mine. Used a RD 8 2m3 before for 2 years until it conked out. Repair price cost nearly half the price of a new one.
  7. I believe the fresh water ones cannot be used for saltwater due to different types of metal used. Good luck if you're using for saltwater.
  8. Ok guys, let's move on. The mods have done a good job of identifying multi nick and they are banned already. What the community can do is to identify any multi nick fellas and inform the mod.
  9. Algaefree is great but Magnavore advantage is the extra reach this magnet cleaner has to clean area that a normal magnet cleaner can't especially a few inches above the visible water line on your tank canopy/crown.
  10. My 8 2M3 model broke down at the 2 year mark. Now in a plastic bag..........Still looks brand new, as new as it 1st came to me. Bought locally.
  11. How do you guys got your plugs and cable setup? Normal extension and multi plug?
  12. Guys, how do you find the performance of this Maxspect led lighting? Does it lessen the amount of time the chiller is turned on?
  13. You can fit the new led light yourself as the G2 version are made that way. Look in the links I provided. http://glassbox-design.com/2010/maxspect-l...ight-cree-xp-g/ Hope this helps!

  15. We as outsider to the conflict should not follow and point finger and blame whoever we feel is in the wrong. If you do not know how the conflict began, just stay away and offer a prayer or even donate to help rebuild what was destroyed in the conflict. You seem to know how to use a computer so use it to look at the history of that particular area before the 2nd World War and after it ended. Study it and see how it was invaded in the famous ' 6 Day War '. Note what happened during that conflict and what happened after that that led to the creation of the 3 political faction and how the ' Intifada movement ' comes about. If it is too hard, imagine our own country being invaded and walls being erected around the island to control food supply and such being brought into our island. The government have difficulties in restoring order as all their income are limited and the other political party rise up to have their way. The government is there but have no power over the other political party. Then imagine artillery shell being fired into your estate. Imagine some of your relative perished and when you went to the government for help, you realise they too are in the same predicament. You as a citizen of that country has no one to turn too and you are easily swayed to join one of the political faction party. Seeing your country in ruin and with limited weapon, you start to pick up rocks and stone that are available and fight your own battle. What pains me is to see pictures of children being hurt or even killed. The heart tugging part is they were killed when they were in the safety of their own home when an artillery shell fell into them. It's quite sad to see the surviving parent carrying their young ones corpse. We Singaporean may never know how it feel to be in that kind of situation. Every side in that particular conflict have their own agenda and they will see them through whatever it may take. Unfortunately, what we see is only the destruction part. We can only hope that one day the conflict may end but seeing that 1 side has been the receiving end for so long, the t i t for tat scenario will continue to go on. How do you end that?
  16. Eating seafood is also harmful. The shrimps being caught using drag net damaged reef structures that have evolve for a long time. The consumption of shark fins leave the population to dwindle in number. Learn how to lessen the impact on the reef before you enter this hobby. There are ways to do this and it will take some time.
  17. Guys, you are all dealing with a banned member of this forum.
