  1. Ooohhh, uh huh, yar lor yar lor.....
  2. Every time I click on to Forums after logging in, I am transferred to the Portal instead and had to click to the Forum heading. Started occuring today.
  3. Your tank volume quite large, whatever you drip continuously might not reach the intended target hence needing to drip more, which cost more to do.
  4. Do not use distill water to calibrate. Use the American Pinpoint Salinity calibration fluid 53.0mS standardized fluid. Using distill water, you are actually calibrating distill fluid, not for salinity.
  5. Let me enlighten as much as I know about the cargo hold of an aircraft. It is pressurized and yes, only certain part have 'heaters'. From what I know, livestock are carried on board passenger aircraft due to the fact that passenger aircraft have a higher frequency ie daily or alternate day of travel to the same destination. Cargo aircraft or Freighter aircraft do not have the same frequency of travel as their passenger aircraft counterpart does. For your info, dogs, cats, mice and some other warm blooded mammals are placed in the cargo hold of the passenger aircraft. So in this case, live fish and coral do travel on passenger aircraft because of the frequency. Cargo aircraft or Freighter as they are usually called, carry other type of live animal. Freighter aircraft can carry live fish but is not usually recommended unless the volume is more than that of the passenger aircraft but I've never seen this before. There's another reason but I think due to issues, I would not divulge it here. Hope this helps!
  6. Where did you get that info from Iskay? All modern jet passenger aircraft do carry cargo in the plane.
  7. No problem, glad to help!
  8. Don't forget today screening!
  9. 1) There are a lot of customized tank maker, Henry from Marine Life at West Coast, Iwarna at Pasir Ris fish farm, Coral Reef at Ubi, AquaMarin at Upper Paya Lebar Rd and many more that the others could chime in. 2) 1 Main pump is enough for the return pump for the tank as well as chiller. A Eheim 1260 is just nice. A work horse brand that last long. 3) You could go with either Tunze wave maker or Vortech wave maker or a mixture of both. High quality equipment and some of the wave maker from Tunze are programmable. All model of the Vortech are programmable too! 4)Top brand are Arctica and Teco follow by made in China Hailea and Resun. With proper placement and ventilation, chiller should last long unless placed in cramped and poor ventilation area. Best advise is to get 1 model up of the required chiller model you want to purchase due to the coming hot weather. A higher model should be able to cope with the extra heat load during this period. Also, another tip is to get the chiller modified to include an external temperature probe to be placed in the sump. Reason being, most of the internal temperature probe design are flawed in that if you choose a low flow rate pump, the internal temperature sensor in the water compartment of the chiller might register a lower reading and will switch off the chiller. A few minutes later it will switch on again when the cool water had exited from the chiller being replaced by the tank water. With an external temperature probe, the chiller is actually measuring the tank water, hence giving a proper reading of the total tank water. 5) For your tank size, look into the Super Reef Octopus XP 2000 cone skimmer. Low wattage of only 30w and there are 2 model to choose from for in sump operation. 6) Led light set are the in thing nowadays with their lower power consumption compared to their T5 and MH ( metal halide ) counterpart. Look at Maxspect light set, you would need their 170w model or the 230w model for your tank size, depending on what type of coral you want to keep. Hope this helps!

Agree, this tip has been used by reefer in RC. Get a big picture of a clown playing in the anemone and stick that picture near the anemone. The clown fish will see the picture and follow by instinct.
  11. That's the problem, where are the local who purchase this skimmer?
  12. Yeah man, must memorize some of the pointer.....
  13. This skimmer I have not read about. I do not know who is using it that's why can't comment. Been waiting for some one to review but at 1st look close to Deltec line but just my own opinion. Locally made skimmer available internationally but few are using and sharing view.
  14. No need to get GERMAN MADE skimmer liao, our asian counter part has caught up and maybe lead the way. Lower cost, lower power consumption!
  15. The Super Reef Octopus XP cone series should be more than enough for you.
  16. If you remove or devastate the stomatella population, good luck to you. These are the good hitch hiker and should be protected rather than destroy.
  17. Correct. This has been done with black molly for quite some time ago, they've been breeding in salt water tank too!
  18. Check your test kit expiration date.
  19. Get it under the shade. If it un-stick itself from the rock, it is on the way to melting. By then, it is too late. Pink yuma are notorious for this condition. Lost an expensive one from GO.
  20. Achmed The Terrorist. The Super hero was funny too!
  21. Later at around 12am got repeat.
  22. There's a rating system? I did not know about this.
  23. Lemonlemon, I google this book and found out they are printed 10 at a time? How long yours took to reach you after you ordered? Can I get the link to order?
