  1. For the benefit of others. A tip is to not generally mop the affected area but along the area where you had walked upon. And always stick to a certain area or path when you are doing tank maintenance so as to keep the mopping area small.
  2. Better to leave the chiller in the open for efficiency wise. You do not want your chiller to re-use the hot air and in the long run the chiller might broke down. Inefficiency will keep the chiller running longer and use more electricity.
  3. Have you check with Razali over at DELighting?
  4. Dunno leh, my friend wasn't too happy with his Aqua C. I was considering it when I was researching for my tank setup 4-6 years ago and also went for Deltec. The thing is I remembered there was a long thread at RC about this brand and that was what made me to purchase a Deltec back then. Maybe you guys managed to properly tuned it but I was following feedback from my friend experience.
  5. Looking at the picture, I would worry if the top acrylic is using the same screw that is holding the bottom acrylic. Remove 1 might remove the other but I hope I am wrong.
  6. I completely agree with Gouldian. Or remove the whole acrylic panel and add a fan there. It's highlighted in the article posted.
  7. Performance wise. Coming from a friend who uses 1 and upgraded to a Deltec. There's feedback about it online too if you care to search.
  8. FYI, marine set up do not use filter but protein skimmer to remove organic waste. Water change are mainly done to remove water that are 'dirty' due to high level of unwanted parameter and also to introduce needed elements into the water column. The protein skimmer do not remove unwanted compound such as nitrates n nitrites as these are in the water column itself and to extract these require something to consume it or to remove part of the water containing these compound in order to lower their percentage in the water. To prevent these compound from increasing in the tank, adequate water movement is needed in the display tank by the use of strong wavemaker in order to keep the organic waste suspended in the water which will then be moved to the overflow and down to the sump where it will be processed by the protein skimmer. A good way to achieve this is to match the flow coming down from the display tank to the skimmer pump flow rate. A higher flow than what the skimmer can pull is not a good practise as the remaining water that pass the skimmer will return back to the display tank and feed the algae or let the organic waste to rot. A denitrator is not the final solution to the problem of elevated unwanted compound level. It is not a set and forget type of equipment and could bring harm to the livestock if the owner are not well aware of their equipment function. Not monitoring this equipment from time to time will bite back the owner in the future. Hope this helps!
  9. It looks nice and all but I have not seen how they could replace their led light if 1 or 2 did not work.
  10. I would stay away from relying on a Aqua C. Look into the Super Reef Octopus XP series.
  11. I think this thread is in the wrong section.
  12. Check with Razali at Delighting sponsor forum.
  13. Yeah man or best thing is you act blur and get stung and then sue that guy for selling venomous fish to you. Make money in the process!!!
  14. Depend on where the livestock comes from.
  15. To have minimal maintenance is to start correctly from the start.
  16. Different type of equipment will give different result. Your Resun pump will never replace what the MP10 can do, it will only give an alternative flow.
  17. But they look un-natural to me even if the parent are normal. On another note, when are your cleaner goby ready for sale?
  18. Hmm, this is a business minded opinion. I would whole heartedly support tank raised fish in order to lessen wild collection but never tank raised selective breeding for unique pattern or color, it's like the luohan and parrot fish nightmare in the freshwater arena.
  19. Tank size do make a difference. If you have say a 6ft and the water change using a small bucket might not be enough to replace the element that has been consumed. But a tank half that size, say a 3ft, might be enough with water change BUT depending on the amount of live stock such as corals. Such tank owner need to take a look of his/her coral condition before making any changes. Sometimes certain coral are 'happy' after a water change so the tank owner really need to monitor his live stock condition. No 2 tanks are the same so what work for one person might not work for another person even if the tank size is similar.
  20. I fully agree! I got 100kg+ of live rock 4 years ago when I started from a reefer who decom for $200.
  21. oh I see now. I was looking for a larger pattern.
  22. That's right but placement of the external temperature probe should be in the sump.
