Whoa, that would be the ultimate dream of every reefer......a reef paradise.....right in the house
-
Thanks, i was pretty worried when i switch from MH to T5 on the effect of clams, whether it is enough to keep them well, but so far, they seems happy ... phew....

I always have this feeling on the various type of lighting temperatures.... Towards the Red : 6k - For growth Towards the Actinic : 20k - For color shades (Diff zooxanthalae response differently) Between - 10k-14k - Good for viewing and in between for growth and color shades. Of course the intensities of each temperature also plays an important part.... Just some thoughts there but didn't do any research on them.....

Gary, nice blue acro - can i queue up in line when you decide to frag that.... also the orange tip, the ........wah, so many nice sps....
-
Wah, all the beautiful fishes, really a big challenge to keep a lot of fishes in a mix reef system - respect....

Nice Tank Bro- I Like the thick glass and the black silicon , is it a aquatechnic tank?

Thanks bro - some of the things i was doing differently from my old tank- -Make sure the return of the chiller reach the main tank first, previously made the mistake of returning to the sump (when the chilled water reach the main tank, the temp may have risen). zooxanthalae seems to like colder water-color -Clean Skimmer every night - seems to get better result with cleaner collection cup especially the bubbling area-cleaner the better -Better water flow throughout tank (had the Tunze Turbelle last time but didn't install in the old 2ft tank (Too powerful and looks a bit odd) -Used Marc Weiss Products in the new tank -i do see changes when i use them, believe it will also need tank stability for it to perform -Used T5 in place of my old 150W 20k MH - sps seems to color up better -Dose Kalk every morning -Feed Phytoplankton every Sunday -And things that i may be doing differently but didn't really take note - so a journal will be good..... tried a few times but not discipline enough to follow through

Oops, missed your point there, quite hard to give a definite statement to that but i have some sps that keeps their colours when introduced to the new tank and some that were brown and coloured up nicely over time....but i see difference when condition changes ----temperature, flow....etc
-
In my previous tank that i use MH (150W-20k) , i find that the sps colouration is lighter and harder to colour up (dont have so many sps then), seems to me that T5 can bring out the sps colours better and more uniformly, but that said (i am doing things differently in my new tank which i think helps with the survivability and coluration of the sps (i believe so- lighting is only 1 of the factor). ....

Yep, u'r rite, 2ft T5 for my 3ft tank so the edge don't get a lot of lights, some decision to make then so you can see my sps are concentrated in the center zone and way up the tank.....
-
Yep, a Juwel -dont know the model though -3 ft, tempered galss - cannot drill, i got my overflow at the other side of the wall, where the main tank is in the downline of the flow. Quite hard to explain.... I am using a no brand Skimmer currently, previously using a Tunze Skimmer in my 2ft, but have not incorporate it into the new tank yet....

My Purple Tang - missed him so much - victim of a fish dieoff recently when a nudibranch got sucked into my Tunze (be warned) - luckily my corals were not affected and my fish population is minimum...... but still a sad day for me ....

Thanks Bro

They'r doin very well bro - thanks for the nice and solid frags - also got some of Deepblue's frags doing very well also.....
-
Thanks for the compliment sis- , i took some of them out of the old tank to try to do some propagation, so the new tank gets less of them, but i hope to fill em up in the new tank again..
