  1. This view is already so natural....makes one think that they are doing diving in a reef looking up the water surface....
  2. Bro, your piece had really grown in size and the whole piece base had turned blue.....give it more light and i believe the green and orange/red polyp will be very prominent....
  3. A very good sized tank....the tank looks aged with full coralline and ready for sps....... ....goin into full steam stocking up huh ...
  4. Go starboard bare bottom..... Will be very interested to see progress......so far had been enjoying this thread....keep the updates coming......
  5. DB, you can't run away from either lps or sps....come to look at it....this tank is beginning to look like your previous tank...... ....chio.. Scarab, one more line to add - "if you ever stop, you will always come back"..... I've went from a 2ft to 4ft, then to 5ft, stopped, back to 2ft and now 3ft...... and i am still enjoying it....
  6. Very interesting thread.....another great tank in the makings.....
  7. Wow......a very established tank and good encrustation of the sps and montis....
  8. I clean every night.....what i believe ->Cleaner skimmer neck and cup cover = better efficiency
  9. it's.......out of the world...mother nature couldn't replicate this....i dont think divers get to enjoy this type of view no matter where they dive.......the colors....you name it, it's in there....corals combination, clear water..."sea breeze"....bro, if got open house...i book the cushion you always sit on to enjoy the tank, then move everyone away from the tank......i want to enjoy the view with a cold pineapple juice.....
  10. Well, i guess mine is not... ....good luck to the trade or sales....
  11. This is not easy to id, i've got 1 big colony and if it's acan.....i will be overjoy....
  12. From the pics, it seems that the top part are in the same area zone whereas the bottom part are doing well, do you have any strong flow consistently pumping water pass that area?
  13. Increasing O2 in the water is always good, the pros of using a pump to bubble a tank is -Increased water movement -Increased O2 in the water The cons are: -bubbles are flying everywhere, some gets stuck with mucus of corals, not many like that in the reef tank -bubbles burst when they reach the surface and salt spray will be everywhere Do consider the above when implementing -Jim
  14. I always love to see the coral pics from your tank, the colors are out of the world......
  15. POWER!!!.. ....underwater current.....
  16. I was hoping mine could spread to cover the tank back wall, looks like it's gonna take a while.... The piece i am having currently have green polyp in the center area and orange at the edge, u mentioned that at times, the whole piece can turn orange polyp, do you remember under what conditions? - i really hope mine can stay the way it is now.... (i prefer it this way... )
  17. ..Wow Dan...yr tank is full of gems, is this a slow grower since you've got it a while back? i really hope mine could grow faster so I can share more of this gem with local reefers......
  18. I believe your TLC and good tank conditions had brought the Yuma back to it's original healthy color morph....
  19. You can try a six line wrasse, the mandarin cant take them out.... my cleaner shrimps, sps crab and hermit crabs are still around after introducing the six line wrasse, but make sure you do not have other wrasse, they will stress and kill one another. - Jim
  20. Yes bro, it's 150W-20k lamp and the sps had to be keep at the top area of the tank, if i were to start another tank, it will definitely be 250W or more +T5.....then can do slope downwards like you and the rest of the bro here....it will really replicate the natural reef scene.....and more space to buy more sps.....
  21. Really solid macro pictures.... ....look at those details.......they look so ######...everything exposed...
