Hmmm most of the time people only change the bulb, for ballast, they will only change when it break down. 2yr old ballast should not under-perform, what is important should be the bulb life, people do change their bulb ranging from every 6-9mth for SPS keeper.

Tunze 9002 sound like a better choice.

Bro is there any reason why u r going for aquamedic skimmer? I personnally think that their skimmer is not very good and there are a lot of different brand of skimmer available locally so maybe u can do more research to find the best skimmer within your budget. =)

Another thing is the paly must be stable, if just frag, it run the risk of being eaten also. My yellow belly regal finished off my mohawks paly which I thought is safe since it is a paly. I think because it is just fragged, it will release some chemical which attach the angel to come and eat them.
