  1. Show us a few photos of your IOS compartment if possible.
  2. (1)Yes, I would say use your current tank water unless its in a bad shape. (2)Yap, unless your existing LR do not fit into your new scaping design. That is why some folks decide to decomm, then setup everything new in new house.
  3. How big is your IOS compartment? Try to fit a skimmer in there if possible to avoid the risk of leakage. Below is a recent link to similar query:
  4. Manage to get one. Thanks chercm. Thanks for viewing. Thread closed.
  5. You may only need a fan blowing over the top of your 30cm tank if the corals you keep is not too demanding. Get a thermometer to monitor your water temperature.
  6. Thanks Solo77 for the details. I did take all 4 points into consideration when planning for my sump before going to my tank maker. So I guess it makes mine an "open concept sump".
  7. Sorry I'm new to this term "open concept sump". Does it mean without baffles? Hope someone can enlighten me.
  8. Hi people, I've got an Aquabee 2000/1 pump with a missing inlet piece (pic below). Desperately looking for this for my office tank upgrade project. I understand it is also the same used on Aquabee 3000 model. Would be most happy of any kind soul happen to have a spare piece to sell me.
  9. I think pink is mostly for aquatic plants. Purple I've seen for marine use. Go to YouTube to look at clip "Rickets Reef - 90 Gallon Build (Day 38) New Lights and Life". He uses 2x Fiji purple in his 8xT5 fixture.
  10. Thanks for the advice. I think taking corals photos are ok as long as the camera can reproduce sufficient details. Trying to freeze frame a swimming fish is most challenging for me. So setting to higher ISO would improve my fish photos? My compact point & shoot might be able to manually set to higher ISO also. Hmmm...
  11. Thanks for viewing. Item collected. Thread closed.
  12. Very nice. Can show us a view on your red sponge side?
  13. I just came across a thread about T5 fixture which I thought you might be interested also. another forum/forums/index.php?showtopic=12860&st=0
  14. Should be ok if you turn on all 4 tubes. You'll either need to hang it over your tank or find suitable stand. Adjust its height over your tank to get the right coverage.
  15. Thanks for the info. It looks real sexy hanging over a nano. Is it available in S'pore?
  16. Hi All, My current compact point & shoot is just not giving me good results when I point it at my fishes. I've tried aperture priority setting, manual IOS setting, shutter priority setting, close-up setting, white balance setting; different techniques like moving camera with subject, or fixed position waiting for subject to enter into frame,...etc. And I've pretty much concluded that my current 4 mega-pix point & shoot just isn't up to the task. I've seen pics of beautiful detail photos uploaded by fellow reefers of their corals & livestocks, and figure some of these cameras would probably reaches into the 4-digit price range. I would like to get a better camera but have limited budget. (I guess you would have already know that since I'm probably the only guy on this island still using a 4MP camera.LOL) I'm not sure if DSLR is a must for aquarium photography, but I notice the market is making available some high end semi-pro compact cameras costing from $600-$900. Would very much like to hear what you have to say about these, & if they have the feature to take decent aquarium photography. If possible, I would like to find out what you're are using to photograph your aquatic pets. And would appreciate very much if you can also show a photo from your camera with a close-up shot. In anticipation of your generous feedback,
  17. ...and we hope that you'll share with us along the way as you setup your tank. Hint: We love lots of pics.
  18. MH is power hungry. Have you considered LED instead?

  20. No, I believe it's just a DI. You can call Aquamarin to confirm.
  21. ...or you can also check out dr evil at our sponsor DE-Lighting.
  22. I got the measurement from Aquamarin.(Below is its web page) http://www.aquamarin.com.sg/productsDetail.asp?productid=859 You may want to give them a call to confirm before deciding.
  23. Can't say which one is better. Individual preference. Chaeto is biological, whereas Rowa is chemical. A fresh cup of Rowa would probably work faster than a cup of chaeto. But then, in the right environment, chaeto keeps growing more & more, whereas Rowa gets exhausted & needs replacement-->$$.
