  1. Is the skimmer pump warm to the touch when running?
  2. A couple of vertical pieces of glass. 1st piece has gap below forcing water to flow downwards.(while bubbles rise) 2nd piece forces water to flow over it ejecting the remaining bubbles. Best if can get Chilldown to extend your chiller to bend the coil towards the right side of your sump. Bro hotsoup is right about your condensor ventilation. Moving it outwards along the wall will also require longer chiller pipe. Overall you need to think this thru'. Will your living room get too warm for your family? That's cool. If your tank is still cycling, don't need to turn on chiller nor lights. In fact, you can even turn off one return pump.
  3. WATCH OUT sexy shrimps! There's a yellow wrasse on the loose. Hey bro, I can only say enjoy these fishes while they're small. But either plan for future tank upgrade or give up for adoption when they grow too big.
  4. Hi bro, Nice tank. I notice a few things: (1) Once the protein skimmer is in place, think you might need to add bubble traps before the 2 return pumps. (2) The chiller coil should ideally be position in the last compartment same as the return pumps. (3) The high rise tower LR design may be ideal for fishes to swim around them, but has limited real estate for coral placement at the top.
  5. A picture speaks a thousand words. bro
  6. Thanks bro, will keep my eyes open for them.
  7. And the young chaps are helpful too. Good work attitude.
  8. Good point there about the stirring bro. Did not think of that design benefit.
  9. I remember during my school days, teacher said air can be compressed more than liquid. Probably did some experiment to prove that too. So if the container is big enough, we me see a reduced dozing amount over time as volume of air in container increases compared to liquid. Pls. tell me if I'm wrong.
  10. Love your bigger tank bro. I'm sure your fishes appreciate it too. Question: How come the light on bigger Maxspect looks more bluish?
  11. When the air pump turns off, will liquid flow via air tube into pump? To avoid the above, can the air tube be routed to the top of the container?
  12. Bro, where can I find Sushi RAW seaweed? My tangs would love them.
  13. Can this be used like for tank dosing rather than food?
  14. I kapo prawn head from my mom's market prawn(no point for that part going to waste mah..). De-shell to extract meat(surprisingly there's quite substantial amount of meat in the head portion). Minced it up with a cleaver. Then scoop into pill boxes for freezer. Above image from http://www.hc-gifts.com/3_Weekly_28_compartments_pill_box_1237.htm
  15. Emmmm....sorry bro, don't really understand your question.
  16. Are you using filter sock in your sump for mechanical filtration? It may help as it traps more detritus than filter wool.
  17. I'm actually referring to the LR below your green bubble coral. Is it leaning against the glass?
  18. Some info here, but you might want to talk to shop owner to find out exact material used. http://www.filterbags.com/filter_bag_pricing.htm
  19. Wahhh...nice wood panel. But how come one side nicely cover waterline, the other side exposed? One thing, try not lean your LR against the glass. Difficult to clean & you may get scratches later.
  20. Another alternative is http://www.madpetz.com.sg/ Delivery to your door.
  21. hmmm...the spinning within reminds me of the Weipro skimmer I used to own.
  22. If your tank is BB, an additional underflow will help to clear detritus. Some folks use multiple wave makers to keep detritus from resting onto LR & tank bottom. I use my magnet clean every couple of days to similar effect. Cheapo way
  23. If you stay in the west, can try Sun Hee Hardware at Clementi blk 354.
  24. Just be careful with your fingers if you intend to reach in for the LR or sand bed.
  25. - check overflow box - check overflow piping(anything jammed inside?) - check sump - last resort, remove LR
