  1. You can pass you some too. PM me if interested.
  2. The types of fish & corals are limited by the size of your tank. So it's a good idea to indicate what you'll like to keep.

Wonder if there are any polling done to gauge the outcome.

  6. Have you considered installing a 2nd overflow? Then you have a backup path in case the 1st one is stuck.
  7. Your cleaner shrimp gave birth izzit? So many whiskers all over the rocks.

  9. Hi starfish123. Let me be the 1st to extend a warm welcome to you in reefing hobby. Let me say that reefing is not a cheap hobby to begin with, nevertheless still just a hobby. For most of us reefers, there're other priorities in life. You can get an indication of this from the decommission sales in our Pasar Malam forum. I encourage you to use the search function in this forum to find the answers to the questions you posted as many have asked the similar questions before you. In the process, you'll likely find other treasures of knowledge about this fascinating hobby. All the best

  11. Below is a HOB filter with built-in surface skimmer. "SUN" brand Model "B3" (I think they come with different sizes like "B2" & "B4",...etc. I got it from C328 auntie couple years ago. The black piece floats and auto adjust to water level in the tank. Overall, it should take up less space than what I mentioned earlier.
  12. Unlike a tank with sump setup, your display tank water level is going to fluctuate due to evaporation & top-up. Drilling a hole will not work because when water level falls below hole, your filter will start sucking air & no water will move. Instead, you need to get an off-the-shelf surface skimmer(see pic below) and attached its flexible hose to your HOB inlet. Its overflow comb is design to stay with the water level. 13. Sounds like a good project. Remember to benchmark your phosphate level before you start. After which, your tank husbandry pattern should remain constant throughout the project.

  20. Yes bro, & I hope they're doing well. About your noisy pipe, can you show some pics? That may provide some clues as to how the problem can be solved.
  21. Hey bro, You have to 1st determine if the noise is coming from within the overflow pipe, or at its outlet into the sump. If it's the latter, then are you using a metal stand for your sump, or an enclosed cabinet? This is because a cabinet help to contain much of the noise within. OK, let's talk about the overflow box. IMO, if your existing pipe fails, even a customized one doesn't guarantee noise will be within your wife's acceptable threshold. Wouldn't it be easier to sell your existing setup & get a one with built-in overflow. Then can you be sure it'll be silent running.
