  1. Hey your tank looks HUGE from this angle.
  2. I was also at Iwarna to pick up some salt, but didn't see you. BTW, my office building security guards have a habit to pop-in after office hours to turn off all the air-cons. (including weekends) Any suggestions how I might counter that move without having to return to office ? Cheers,
  3. caulerpa warning! See Ah-lim's post at http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=65091
  4. How about a bi-color blenny or algae blenny? They don't grow too big. I have a bi-color in my 14"x9"x12" office tank. It did a pretty good job on my LR. Plus I put some Seachem PhosGuard into a little bag in my HOB filter too.
  5. Wait guys!! Red plate right? I got VERY BIG lobang. No need $4.75 http://partybundles.com/component/option,c...d,25/Itemid,82/

  8. ok, below is the result after Resun SK-05 run-in for about 36hrs. LS contributing to the skimmate are : 2 x maroon clown fish (~1.5") 1 x bi-color blenny (~2") I've removed the outlet control & the bubble dispersing sponge cause they're blocking my HOB filter inlet. Result : Chinese tea from a $16 skimmer
  9. Sorry sorry Though my query can be categorized under "Setup of a marine tank" Must have interpreted wrongly. pls. give chance leh. .. 1000 apologies

  11. Thanks xersion for the advise. I've actually considered posting there, but this posting is mainly about seeking advise on how I can upgrade my skimmer with the given space limitation.
  12. Or how about a Aqua Medic Turboflotor 750? http://saltaquarium.about.com/cs/prskimmer...rAMturbo750.htm Any idea how much these 2 skimmers cost, & where can I find them?
  13. Hi All, Firstly, I want to thank SG Reef for allowing me to register as a member. It allows a wealth of marine fish keeping information. I've stated with a small 2' IOS tank at home recently so that my whole family can enjoy the setup & learn from it. To keep things as simple as possible, there is no chiller for this bare-bottom FOWLR tank. (Not exactly so since I've got a green plate, hammer, & mushies too But they're quite hardy) Fishes : 1 x tomini tang 1 x maroon clown 1 x female square-back anthias 2 x Kaudern's Cardinal 3 x chromis Inverts : 2 x cleaner shrimp & some tiny snails from about 20kg of LR Tank dimension : 2' x 1.5' x 1.5' (including the IOS sump at the rear) The sump is 4" thick, hence the main display tank is only about 2' x 1'2" x 1.5' Attached is the dimension of my sump. Right chamber is filled with Biohome media under a layer of filter pad. Center chamber is half filled with some LR. For left chamber, there's a returm pump, & a Weipro 2011 skimmer hanging within. It's performance is only so so no matter how I adjust the skimmer. Thinking about upgrading to a needlewheel skimmer for better performance. Question : Would a Macro AS-100P fit inside my left chamber? Cheers

  18. Guys very quite leh . . . Are the prices too high?
  19. Yep, saw it, but not much skimmate was shown in the collection cup. Pop-by at Clementi Blk 328 to pick up a unit. Uncle charged me $16 after some bargaining. It does have a bubble dispersing sponge, but practically not effective. I'm trying to direct it's outlet to my existing hang-on power filter's inlet tube. Hopefully, this will further dissipate more of those micro-bubbles. My fishes must have thought I've installed a jacuzzi for them! Meanwhile, I can see bubbles in the reaction chamber while it's running in. Will check for skimmate tomorrow.
  20. Thanks Gouldian for the info. Did some searching on the SK05 & came up with below pic. Looks like some mod is required on its outlet to reduce micro-bubbles in the main tank. Any suggestion? http://www.livingreefs.com/gallery/image3086
