  1. Someone told me I might have touched on a taboo topic in a reefing community. I'd like to sincerely say sorry to those who feel offended by the pic I posted. Sorry to trouble you Mod. Pls. help to remove the link to the pic if possible.
  2. I learn something new for the new year.
  3. You mean the heavy rocks are just leaning against each other without epoxy? Is that stable?
  4. I like the way your LR props up most of your corals like a 3-legged bridge. Can share how you manage that?
  5. Item traded. Thread closed.
  6. Anyone planning to add a rabbitfish for the Year Of the Rabbit? I don't see LFS bring in much stock.
  7. If the water level in your sump(ie where your skimmer is sitting) is constant at current level, put a platform to raise your skimmer higher out of the water. That should reduce the water gushing out & you'll be able to better regulate your skimmer.
  8. Hey! No expired milk pls. Wishing all a happy CNY
  9. I believe cleaner shrimp will go for the trap too. Don't know about yours, but cleaner shrimps I kept are like pigs. They smell your food pellets on the LR or sand bed & approaches within the minute. However, cleaner shrimps are easier to catch if you have a net. Option 1: I've notice cleaner shrimps use their tails to shoot thru' the water when cornered & trying to make a quick escape. Position some food on top of your LR. Use net to scoop up shrimp when it tries to feed. Then house in beta box until crab is caught. Option 2: Position food at corner of tank on sand bed. Trap shrimp with net when it comes out to feed. Then house in beta box until crab is caught. Note: If your fish net is small, You may net 2 nets to corner the shrimp.
  10. I've a full bottle(500ml) of unused AquaPharm 5-in-1 Coral Food. Would trade for a chilled bottle of Meiji full cream fresh milk
  11. Hi All, Notice some white spots on my LR. Size of the spot does not exceed 1mm. They seem to appear in clusters on the coralline. Can anyone help me identify them? Should I try to scrape them off? Pic below:
  12. I rescaped a few tonga branches to get the mushies nearer the light. left view front view right view
  13. Hi Cedric, Can I find out from you if you get salt sprays or sticky floor in front of the tank due to the blowing fans?

  15. Hi Vinc, I think I understand what you mean. You should have an air tube at the tip of your durso pipe(see pic below). You can: (1) Enlarge the hole slightly, & replace with larger size air tube. Keep increasing air tube size until water level stabilizes in your overflow compartment. OR (2) Drill another small hole next to the existing one, & add a 2nd air tube(preferably smallest size you can find). Increase this 2nd air tube size until water level stabilizes in your overflow compartment.
  16. Below is how I caught my hairy crab. The bottle is preferably glass so that it sinks. Besides sourcing one with a mouth can just fit your crab, look for one that's sufficient long. This is so that when crabby slides down to the base, it could not easily climb back out. Note: Pick a bottle with smooth surface. Leave it there overnight, & check in the morning. Replace bait if need be.
  17. So the only piece of equipment contributing to heat over the weekend, would just be the return pump? Maybe should also monitor for this weekend to be on the safe side.
  18. LOL...so funny. I was looking at my hairy colleague when you posted this.
  19. At this rate, the salinity in your tank fluctuates quite a bit & is not healthy to the LS. I suggest you top-up more frequently with 1.5liter bottle.
  20. Is there a blue dot on the other side too?
