  1. I heard that the Tunze design is a little difficult to dismantle for skimmer maintenance. Not sure if this is true.
  2. May have sufficient space for a durso if you seal one of the overflow. Just make sure the downward facing durso opening is lower than existing drilled hole to your overflow box. Worth a try if the noise continues to irritate you.
  3. BTW, I saw bro peong's Module400 in his posting. (link below) You can ask if he's selling it.
  4. Thanks all for the advices. I'll keep you posted if there're any further development to those spots.
  5. You should actually be looking at the Module 400. I think it's a newer design from Reef Octopus. It's also a common practice to oversize our skimmer in a marine setup. Below is an old thread on aquac remora.
  6. Hope you've better luck than I with the sexy shrimps. Mine introduced me to a bobbit worm which I never knew existed in my tank. So my shrimps go MIA 1 by 1 until I had none left. Sigh...
  7. Your overflow piping looks interesting bro. It looks like having 2 outlets. Can share a little on: (1) Where do they lead to? (2) Any noise problem?
  8. Poor stars, have no more sand to play with. BTW, is Eheim 1250 strong enough to used as a sump return?
  9. bubble magus qq definitely much better built. But it's only S$80 meh? In addition, its design is more suitable for in-sump use.
  10. It reminds me of my office's HOB skilter. (pics below)Only a bit of mod needed. It dosen't skim fantastic, but then again, it's dosen't cost a lot.
  11. No snails in my tank. Will be very happy if my LR start sprouting them.
  12. Hmmmm...you may be right. Let me go back to the shop for further inquiry.
  13. No no no no...the tank is on my office desk. Definitely no exposure to movies.
  14. I think most fresh water fish shop carry them. Since you water level fluctuates with evaporation, choose those surface skimmer that can auto adjust to these different water levels.
  15. I came upon this item selling in hardware store. It comes with 3W LED x3 per unit. Anyone who has tried this can give us review? For E27 socket: For MR16 socket(I also found this at a neighbourhood lighting shop selling for S$20): Note: It also has one for E14 socket.
  16. Finally managed to take a pic(from a different angle). Seems that the spots are still there. And they're mostly located at the top surface of the LR where lighting is brighter.
  17. Nice rocks. Maybe can get an overflow skimmer for your HOB filter. (Some filters do come with it built-in.)
  18. I'm running an aquabee3000 + K3 wavemaker in my 2 feet cube, all 2nd hand & they're doing very well.
  19. A HOB skimmer like Deltec MCE600 or Reef Octopus BH-2000 may be easier to implement.
  20. If you intend to lean LR against back wall, then be sure to order thicker glass. BTW, I noticed my neighbour's tank & cabinet was siliconed to the rear wall. Maybe you should also consider this for a narrow tall tank. We do get earth tremors from our Indonesian neighbour once in a while.
  21. Yes, you need enough space for your 10"(& growing) unicorn to do U-turn.
  22. Sometimes algae growth is due to insufficient flow in your tank.
  23. Incredible effort Pls. keep the updates coming.
