Sad to say there are such reefer roaming around in the community , few month ago i bought a 4 stage DI filter for $ 170 recommended by fellow reefer only to find out later that the exactly same filter is only $ 40.00 buck from taobo .. Feel so cheated !

The photo with the par reading is a good guage to show what type of coral will do well in various lighting par. As most of the time we can't tell from our naked eye.

Carbon will remove chlorine in the water as well.
Yes , I think adding the anti chlorine before the filter will help extend the di lifespan in certain extent, although we can't measure it.

I am using both hydra and HD like you as well and it is very trouble some to program both but the good thing is you can save the setting file and just transfer over. The hydra HD can be pair up as well with one being the " parent " controlling the rest as "child" .
