Maybe u can try taking a pic of the blastos in daylight, as opposed to actinic, to give ppl a better representation of the color... Just my 2 cents...upz for ur sale...

Hey there Princess...don't know u personally or on the boards but have been following your progress through the series of "interesting" posts and threads. Just wanted to congratulate you on the beautiful baby girl. And wish u well on your road to recovery as well. Its interesting to me how you can find friendship and comfort in this community of reefers, in someways affirming that this community doesn't just limit itself to reefing but touches on other aspects of peoples lives as well. Rest well and take care... ps. I admire your frankness btw....quite entertaining at times too...lol!

Selling all corals in mixed reef tank
southpaw23 replied to Eric's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Paiseh.. Got lucky with the timing i guess....have been looking for them for quite sometime...and surprisingly have been reading about pairs in a tank...and have not heard of many that got along...i guess because his are still small, they aren't at each others throat much. Well, in the event they get naughty and i need to separate them, u'll be first on my list k? -
I recent got one a couple of weeks back...and he doesn't seem to be bothering my cleaners of other inverts at all.....seems fairly peaceful as compared to the other hawkfishes....

Reef Maniacs Miniature Reef Beckett for sale
southpaw23 replied to blueheaven's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Blueheaven's tank is the exact same specs as yours if i'm not mistaken....though his bioload may not be as high. Even so, i don't see a problem with the beckett handling ur tank load. The worse case scenario is that u upgrade to a higher flowrate pump....but again....i'm guessing that the MD40 and the becket should be able to handle ur tank.... My 2 cents... ps. Oh and a good buy btw.....Upz! -
The regular grey PVC would be fine....i saw my tank maker doing the same thing so thought it might be useful in ur situation....get some spare PVC and try it out first....till u get the hang of it....i honestly don't think it'll be that difficult. Heat one side of the PVC and bend the opposite way, the heated side will soften and possibly stretch...then repeat on the other end a lil higher up to get the curve u want.... Good luck with it....and let us know how it turns out...

How much space exactly do you have in the overflow compartment? Depending on the space, u could possibly trim down the durso to not take u so much room, for instance, trimming the "L" and "T" joint as much as possible then glueing them together. Also what u can do is bend the PVC to look like this (picture below), to make use of the space in the overflow. Mind u bending the PVC is kinda simple but would probably take a couple of tries if u haven't done it before....simply run it over an open fire to soften the PVC and bend to desired shape then let it cool. Anyways....seeing how effective the last picture was...here's my shot at a possible solution. cheers,

Oh and for those that may be interested....i've started a thread on my new DIY T5-HO set that i've added to the tank. Wanted to get more of a blue hue to the tank. Here's the link.... http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=42108

Zoomed in...a lil.... Thats all for now...got more pictures that need to be downloaded and processed. Note that this is not the current condition of the tank...in fact, these photos are almost a month old...kinda slow with the picture processing i guess More to come in a couple of days i guess....

Correction...all the livestock made it except the lil toadstool which fell off the rock it was placed and probably swept under the big rocks cos i can't find the lil thing. And also note the murky water which eventually cleared up the next day... Right side

Here was how the tank look after the rescape. Also transfered all my existing livestock from the 2 footer. At this point in time, the tank has been cycling for just over a month...and thankfully, all the livestock made it through the process of the transition. Left side...

Silly fella.... of course i'm aware that this is a pasar malam and that ppl are not here to profit....i merely stated my point of view that in the case of the food ur selling, it would probably be better for u to keep it rather than sell it cos at the end of the day....ur only gonna get back 8-9 dollars for it at a 3-4 dollar loss....so, just felt that in this instance, it would be better to keep the food as opposed to sell it seeing that the item will not go to waste...and that ur fish can end up eating the food anyways. But at the end of the day, it is still ur decision so upz for ur sale!
-
8.50?....wow...from the looks of it...i think it would be better for u to keep it and feed ur fishes as opposed to lose over 30% of what u paid for it.....
-
I'm confused....why are you selling away your formula I and asking for places to get the cheapest formula I at the same time....why don't u keep the spare that you already have seeing that u would be losing money if u sold it? Just wondering......
-
I thought about that but weighed the pros and cons....if it's covered, it'll generate too much heat and i would have find a suitable material to house it in....leaving it open helps dissapate the heat better (even tho it's an e-balast, it still gets hot) And the fixture sits about 8 inches above the water and i don't foresee any water splashes hitting the balast. Plus all the wirings are hidden within the trunkings anyways.... Thanks for the heads up tho....will take some pictures of the fixture in the tank soon....i like the blue tint it adds to the 14k MH bulbs.....guess i just like the blue look.... Oh and thanks for the compliments guys...the DIY wasn't too complicated...and sure saves me a couple of bucks that could go to corals, fishes and other equipments....

The good thing about this configuration is that the total width is only just over 4 inches.... Final shot....
