the CR or BacHome dont have to move, in fact they should not move, because when they move, it will create rubbing and knocking and hence create more dust , and faster shorten the lifespan of the CR.. the canister will push all the water thru all the CR inside.. I believe what you see at the LFS is that the boss try to save CR, hence he put only a little inside, so when the water rush in, the will push the CR around. In fact dont believe so much what you see or hear from most LFS, most of the time, they might not fully understand the functionality of the product or live stock they are selling... their objective is just to clear the stock ASAP and money can roll over to new stocks.

it normal... they will sometime close up and some time open big big... but once they settle down.. it will be ok. ensure your water parameter are ok... that is more important.

no problem.... fish can survive 10day without food.. but.... if there are bigger fishes in there, once they get hungry, they might attack the smaller one as they get aggressive.. so now before u go away, try not to feed them every day.. maybe every 2-3 day once.. then when u away, they will be kind of get use to it..

Alternatively, you get the glass bottle from the chicken essence, put some food inside and place it next to the rock that he always appear. Put it straight up. no the hairy algae are not aiptaisa. maybe those 2 white thing standing up like a mushroom with yes.. but cant see clearly from your photo. u can google airptasia for the photo.. they look like sand anemone, but growth and spread very fast

I dont know what it is.. but to me anything that look-like snail, better remove from your tank, cos they reproduce very fast.. unless is those snail that you buy

normally crystal glass tank are custom made for bigger tank. smaller tank are available off the shelf, LFS like east ocean do sell them for planted tank or shrimp tank. you can check with some tank maker ( do a serach in this forum, you can find a few) on how much to make tank with crystal glass... normal glass tank are just normal glass.. if your is tempered glass, that mean they are more harder and not easy break.. however for temper glass, you need to take care of the edge or corner, it you by accident, hit on these point hard enough, your whole glass with shatter, unlike normal glass only crack
