  1. Upz.. Anyone interested? If need a actual photo, I will be glad to help you take..
  2. I think that is all already.. Dun think there are anymore that offer balling..
  3. This is a good starter guide.. Balling Method
  4. I think found out the difference liao... Hehe.. The addition of trace elements and amino acids to the dosing is absence in Balling Light? I think will be following the traditional balling, with 4 containers, Ca, ALK, MG and trace elements. Hope I am not getting anything wrong here.. Anyone have sources to chemical salts in SG? Or should I buy the products off LFS shelf?
  5. Yup, Read about FM balling light method, if I never remember wrongly, they suggested TM pro special mineral.. But I wanna search for a more afforadable source... TM salt a bit on the high side for me.. Maybe will try Oceanic but will go read the content first.. I most likely will be doing balling light... Still figuring out what is the difference between balling light and normal balling..
  6. Thanks bro... But dunno why my Yellow fin seems like a darker coloration...
  7. Oh ya, Like what Iskay said.. They are great escape artist.. And it require a species tank.. Meaning you can add nothing much into your tank.. Smaller fishes will become food and bigger fish will become predator for your octopus.. But their lifespan is very short, average is 3-6 months..
  8. Ya... But I think the calculation and monitoring is very vital.. I think I will be using Balling alone... Should be able to sustain a normal mixed reef... Ya, there are always different cost to running different method... But electricity bill is more expensive and it a monthly payment compared to the test kits and additives which can be used for 3 to 6 months..
  9. Hmmm... Bro, sometimes it is better to do some research before you commit in buying any fishes and coral.. For your case, Octopus... Okay, now to your questions... 1) what do they eat?? Ans: Basically you can feed market prawn, and live fishes.. You can try cutting the market prawn to bite size and try to feed to them.. Using tongs or pincer and target feed them.. Alternatively you can get drop the prawn near them and hope they eat... 2) izzit ok to keep more then 1 octo in a tank?? (Mine's a nano tank) Ans: Not an expert with octopus, but from my knowledge, you cannot keep more than 2 octopus in a tank..
  10. True, But I feel the running cost is a bit high as the pump will be running almost 24/7... But different reefer got different reefing method so will not comment much.. There are liquid element additives that can be bought straight from LFS...
  11. Anyone? Can give step by step on how to get it working.. Thanks..
  12. Wondering how much i should set away for these guy if can find small one which i doubt so..
  13. I guess will wait till they take pellets den I will take if not i will wait and wait and wait.. Hehe..
  14. Called SL.. But according to them, they are still feeding on Brine.. So decided to wait a little longer to see if they will wean to pellets like the one I got...
  15. As you know, I am still quite green towards Balling... I normally will take a look at the dosing product then do my calculation from there, depending on my tank intake daily... I am afraid I might go all out sps once I get some success from Monti.. So the calcium and carbonate intake might be faster than usual... Will PM you the dosing pump website.. Have not used it yet but worth a try...
  16. Hi all, have been pondering to go for Balling method or stay with my initial plan for Calcium Reactor.. For me, it will be a mainly zoas, mush, yumas and softies tank.. With some assort monti cap and digi.. With the recent hike in electricity prices, I am turning to a cost efficient method, which is balling method, I am able to get variable dosing pump at a good price and they run at a lower wattage too.. So just wish to get some feedback about the balling method Vs calcium reactor.. Thanks..
  17. Upz for the Day.. Willing to go lower for the fishes..
