Rare Toby: Canthigaster Axiologa This toby was found at CF. I wanted to buy after i managed to confirm the ID, but someone beat me to it and bought the fish. Whoever bought the toby if u see this post pls note that the toby u got is C.Axiologa and not the common C.Valentini. -
Rabaulichthys (sailfin anthias) is a v poorly known group of fish. This is the first time i see sailfin anthias in singapore. In the states they are v rare and hard to get. We r v lucky to have CF bring in so many at a cheap price. Those left at CF now are mainly females. I'm sure those who bought the fish are now v happy and have no regrets buying the anthias. They are not the most colourful of all anthias but they are so interesting to watch and best of all easy to feed. They are v skittish and timid, but feeding does not seem to be a problem for them. However only time will tell if they will are easy to keep alive.

This does not look like a pure flavo either. Those coming out from marshalls now are all mutts. Pure blood are extremely rare in marshalls. The only place where pure blood flavo can be found with any regularity is Guam but there is no collection. It looks a bit like a declivis but is a tinker. Those tinker coming to us are getting bigger and bigger. I recall my first tinker from LCK was 3.5" and during tat time i did not think it was small. Couple months ago another 3+" tinker appeared at LCK but the price was 500. Now so many tinkers came at cheaper price but are all giants! Come to think of it i rather pay 500 to get a smaller tinker. -

Tank bred tat's why so cheap. Wild caught one will cost a bomb (easily at least 5k per fish) becos they are illegal to collect. -

Small ones are exceedingly rare. There are so many more 5cm bandit than 5cm tinker. In fact the pics of 5cm tinker i've seen i can count with three fingers. -

I wont even pay $50! It looks like a disease fish, patches of white and not pure white. -

1 went to US, 1 went to Blueharbor, 1 to B-Box, and now 1 to Splashsea. So that makes it four rainfordias collected already in such a short period of time but there is still so little info on the fish especially where and how they are collected. Now it gives me some hope that i can get one, although still it is not likely to happen anytime soon. -

This is another tank from europe that i like a lot. I like the choice of fishes. It is a chaetodontoplus heaven: Conspic pair, True personifer and blueline angel. Not to also mention the eye-catching anampses feminus, carmabi basslet, a big school of evansi anthias which are v difficult to keep alive and a pair of flame wrasse that stay so closely to each other! -

Nothing too rare about the fishes except for the two clarions in there. There's also a black tang and goldflake. We all know this is pieter's 2000 gallon tank but sadly it no longer look like this after a ick and velvet outbreak. -

rare fish video A v nice misbar regal -
They are actually v common. Every LFS will get them frequently. U will never run out of chance to try a golden angel. Pinnacle each time can bring in up to 8 pieces of goldens from small to big. Iwarna, CF, Ah Beng all regularly bring in two to three pieces of goldens each time. SL and AM also occasionally has one to two pieces available. So many has came in all the while, but i dun wish to find out what is their fate now. And being an inexpensive fish it'll continue to be brought in and many reefers will continue to buy them and try. I suggest u stop wasting your time and energy and go on to keep a flameback.

Golden angels are v difficult because they are poor shipper, caught using cyanide, timid, picky eater etc. Success is largely base on luck, and u need a lot of luck for golden angel. Believe me, go buy another golden angel and u try your method again. This time u will not be so lucky and your golden angel will most likely not survive. I've tried enough of golden angels, as well as all the other as difficult angels and i can ascertain u tat without luck on your side, u can give it the best environment but the fish will still die. I was lucky once, a tiny golden angel survived for 6 months feeding on only mysis, but thereafter MIA for no reason. Since it's only 6 months and not even a year, i wouldn't count it as a success. It is a fish cheap enough for most to try multiple times but I've killed far too many goldens and to date still no success so i've given up on tat fish as luck is not on my side. Those who failed many times will agree w me while those who are lucky may not. But whatever it is, goldens are well-known to be one of the toughest angel to keep alive, so new reefers may want to take note on that before you purchase this cute little angel at any LFS.
