40 Clipperton angelfish, Holacanthus limbaughi, seized!
Digiman replied to JakeAdams's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Many LFS worldwide like Japan, HK and Thailand has been promised these clippertons few months back and only to wait upon the sad news of the fishes being seized and at the end to be distributed for free to public aquariums. Hope Cortez Marine will not be saddened and will try again to bring these true holy grail angels into the hobby. -

Cortez Marine, the guy steve who brought in 300 clarions. Apparently the fish was seized not becos it's illegal to export becos it was not named correctly (named Blue Passer Angels on the box) and as such deemed as smuggling. -

HELP Fishes got white spot and velvet
Digiman replied to contrails's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Melafix will make the skimmer go crazy, so for myself i only add to QT tank. If adding to main tank i use only 1/10 dosage or even lesser. -

For the fin rot u can add a little amount of melafix, jux small amount will do. I also add seachem stability as recommended to restore the denitrifying bacteria colony in the filter system. Adding some eco reefsolution will also help in bringing back the health of the fishes faster. -

I've LR, but now should be dead already. Not only copper, Hypo will also kill the life in the LR, there will be some decay, but it so minimal that it will not pollute the water unless your whole tank is packed w LR. Cupramine is quite stable, once reach 0.4ppm no need to redose much. So as long as u bring it up to 0.4ppm, it'll take quite long to drop to 0.25ppm which is in time for your return for next redose. Water quality will not be affected drastically in jux 6 days so there is no cause for worries. Underdose is better than overdose. -

HELP Fishes got white spot and velvet
Digiman replied to contrails's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Pls dose Cupramine immediately if it is velvet. Do not on UV (it'll reduce copper to some +1 stage which is apparently 10x more toxic). Skimmer can actually keep on running, but for first few days not wise to on it as need to increase the copper level gradually to 0.5ppm. I'm currently using Cupramine, v effective as it actually takes effect at 0.25ppm. Within two days all spots gone and fish breathing back to normal. I currently increase to around 0.4 and kept it there. I off my UV and Skimmer for almost a week already, water parameters all still ok. Will on the skimmer after 14 days. Since your tank not too heavily stocked it's ok to leave skimmer off for a week. Cupramine mux at least be 0.25ppm. So b4 u leave, make sure copper >0.25ppm or can be more but not more than 0.5ppm. -
Tks. Cos i din know US shipment will hav AT also, normally tot is hawaii only, so was wondering if u're referring to AAT. This is a [email=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrAFH7SgNN0]vid i posted some days ago. Tank still undergoing copper treatment so hard to transfer all the fishes in. Anyway no super ex la, super ex ones are coming at end of the month.

Yeah, Happy ending.

WARNING! Don't deal with 93752635 daryl345
Digiman replied to jkit's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
I totally agree as responsible buyer we should reject buying the fishes if we sense something was wrong on the spot. And if we do still take the risk to buy the fish, then we should be prepared to bear the consequence of it dying later on. I expressed my disapointment in the sms merely to let ultraman know that the fish was not doing good already and it died when i got back 20 mins later, but i was not intending for a compension or any sort to be made, cos i do understand there has to be a risk to bear when we get livestocks, be it from the forum or LFS. So i really apreciated when Ultraman initiated to refund me but well even if he did not, i would not have pursued or to blow up the matter either as it'll not be fair to the seller because as mentioned, there was no way to prove which party's fault it is to the death of the fish. Anyway i like to thank ultraman again for his trust as he refunded me even though he was not obligated to make any compensations. That said, it's a bit of a different case here as daryl has committed himself to make a refund, so he should come out to make a clarification soon and keep up to his promise. Hope this matter wil be resolved soon. -

Nothing hybrid or rare abt this one, jux an interesting vid i found on youtube. It'll be great to keep these fishes if i hav a v v big tank, behaves like pirhana.... -
Thanks, v helpful lemon. If cant remove den if close down tank can only throw away the rocks.
-
Does it look big? It';s abt 5 inches only. Maybe it's the only active fish and it looks like it's terrorizing the whole tank. I dun normally on lights. Only on during feeding and it has got used to the bright light and know lights-on = mealtime. Anyway it's quite aggressive, it has ate two cleaner shrimps, one pom pom crab, and killed one pylei wrasse. I doubt i'll be able to add any wrasses in future.

Thanks, but actually the battle not over yet, jux under controlled. Still need to maintain two more weeks of copper treatment. Is there anyway to remove Copper from liverocks completely? I've no sand but hav quite a fair bit of LR.
