  1. Haha u mux be kidding, it's still a fish and i'll never spend more than 5k on a fish cos it may jux die for the slightest reason. But if anyone can provide the care and see the worth in spending tat much on rare fishes, G.Pesonatus is defintely one of the rarest fish on earth u can get! Go for it i would say! Pic attached below for those who dunno wat fish we are talking about here:
  2. This is a fish that one day may jux appear suddenly as there's regular collection at cook. And if it does appear one day, it'll definitely cause a stir in this hobby worldwide before the fish is then sent to Japan!
  3. C.Claire is endemic to cook island, it's one of the only two cirrhilabrus species found in cook island if i'm not wrong, the other being scotts fairy. There's no collection for the trade recorded. However i remember reading somewhere some website which listed all the animals found in cook island (birds and mammals included) and C.Claire is somewhere in the middle of the list, but sadly no pic was shown. So wat remains is still the holotype pic and no other discussions on the net on this fish either. Even your wrasse book has no info, so i guess that should conclude that the fish is v v rare!
  4. Never mind i forgive u, u're jux lost for a moment. Persontus is the most unique and distinctive genicanthus species imo. It's pure white body and orange outline is wat makes it so different from all the other genicanthus species which are normally striped patterns and greyish blue. Sentosa underwater world should acquire a pair for display, then every few months i'll head down to admire the fish.
  5. Auripes is actually a v unpopular fish in Japan and HK. Auripes is abundant in HK and Taiwan waters so no surprise it becomes the fishermen's catch. It's not a fish considered rare but is definitely beautiful if u ask me. Anyway, v mad at a thread in RC talking about G.Personatus cos looks like they (the americans) are seriously gg to get many of this extremely rare angels because one of their hawaii diver who dives really deep has discovered a secret location where a group of these angels are found! I'm so jealous tat they're gg to get the fish and we're not! But even if we get the fish i dun think we can keep it becos of the low temp requirement long term!
  6. OMG, baby wrought iron, now waiting to be shipped to all parts of the world. USD2500 each, twice the price of adult! Will RB get one in?
  7. I like this lemon hybrid, looks like got some numbers written on the body. Can buy 4D.
  8. Not a fan of full blown SPS tank, but as i'm watching the video, something caught my attention! The little flame angel swimming around has "unusual" stripes, which i believe it's a rusty flame hybrid... What's your take?
  9. The persontaus pair is getting a luxurious upgrade. Kudos to Dr Wing for providing a dedicated system to this rarest of the rare pair!
  10. How can u leave Chrysiptera galba (Canary damsel) from deepwater cook island out!
  11. I like Chrysiptera Flavipinnis, it has more yellow than your usual Starcki. Found in fiji and PNG. Not to be confused w the more available C.Taupou.
  12. Dun hav in our LFS? In Ah Beng always see a few this similar coloured and patterned damsel. Many damsels are not collected for the trade because they are found in remote areas and have many similar coloured species from other areas with frequent shipments.
  13. Deep, but not deep like excelsa. But wrought iron is still so much nicer!
  14. I think i mux send u to see the councillor in my school. But i doubt it'll work, u're beyond cure, should condemn u to hell! Jux joking...
  15. Is Tufi damsel endemic to PNG? Anyway, for upcoming japanese shipment can expect to see usual fishes like interruptus and wrought iron. Other interesting filler fishes from japan waters we can see in shipment are malachite wrasse, modestus butterfly, nippon butterfly, G.semifasciatus, japanese golden hawkfish etc. On the rarer end we have true bodianus masudai, C.Lanceolatus, Berndt eel, true japanese dragon moray eel and some rare sharks etc. Below is a pic of the beautiful malachite wrasse, but definitely more suitable for FOWLR..
  16. For something along the same line, i'll prefer roa modestus from Japan. Shown is a specimen at Diver's Den sold at abt USD399 i vaguely remember. In Japan roa modestus appear occasionally and sell at very cheap price at around S$100-S$200 cos the fish though rare, is not popular compared to wrought iron. Something interesting we can look forward to in the coming japan shipment.
  17. 400m is submarine depth. There are still many deepwater fishes inhabiting that depth although there is little or no light. Total pitch black will be the abyss, which is 4000m!
  18. Ok give u the answer: The first one is Pseudanthias rubrolineatus, very deepwater, can be as deep as 400m. Found slightly shallower in Japan water where they ocasionally are caught and of course stay in Japan and command a sky high price for anthias. The second one is Pronotogrammus martinicensis, very deepwater, can be as deep as 400m. Mostly collected by Forrest Young group in deepwater carribbean. Most of them collected are shipped to Japan and again highly priced for anthias. This is one fish if RB can bring in i dun mind paying upwards of 1k for it.
  19. Haha true. On the cheaper end (not so cheap actually) the same shop also have these two anthias for sale: The first one at S$2500 and the second one at S$2000. Wanna guess the names of the two anthias? I dun mind getting the second one if reborn can bring in.
  20. The beautiful white bar mac. This specimen looks quite bigger than the juvi seen at LCK. V sad mine did not make it.
  21. I somehow think he may regret after putting all 7 ATs in as the 7 ATs will make his large tank look small and crowded and over boisterous! Tat's wat AT is v capable of doing! Oh the beautiful shellies of tanganyika, miss my tangan days. Yap but no lamprologous species hold the cyan colours of the Hopkin Jawfish, so the jawfish is still v unique.
  22. Looks real, the fins still got some blue hue (details overlooked if it's fake) which is typical of all white marine fish. Anyway jux saw the price of the baby Tosanoides flavofasciatus in Japan: 380000yen = S$5400
