  1. Gorgeous alpha male Earlei fairy wrasses arrived at famous US wholesaler "Pacific Island Aquatics (PIA)"! PIA is one of the biggest importer of marshalls fishes and they frequently have rare wrasses like johnsoni fairy, bell's flasher, rhomboids etc at super cheap price. And now they have earlei fairies. All the americans are eyeing on these gorgeous earlei, and PIA will be bringing in more to be the demand. As for us, we can only drool at the pics:
  2. There are only four Sacura species. Until recently only S.Margaritacea from Japan is available. The other three were never collected for the trade: "None of the other three recognized members of the genus Sacura; S. boulengeri, S. parva, and S. speciosa (Froese, R. and D. Pauly. 2009) seem to have found their way into the pet trade in the United States. These species have a more tropical distribution, but retain their affinity for cooler water by being found in those areas at a much greater depth than the cherry anthias is in the temperate waters off Japan. Of the three, Sacura boulengeri, from the North Arabian Sea to Pakistan (Moazzam 2004) is perhaps the most attractive; with a yellowish body covered in bright pink wavy horizontal striping." If S.Speciosa is already so amazing, i can't imagine S.Boulengeri!
  3. Some other deepwater fishes also caught in indonesia. Scarua Sp. (This one is definitely a sacura but the species is not sure, probably new!) Bodianus Masudai (Did not know masudai can be caught elsewhere other than Japan!)
  4. The beautiful Sacura Speciosa! Coming out from Bali and Sulawesi this sacura anthias will likely become widely available in a few years to come. It is found at deeper water around 150ft and since it's a sacura species they are active swimmers and usually occur at big numbers at depth, unlike holanthias species which is a more solitary and less active fish. Also one thing interesting about this fish is according to the diver who collected them, the patterns on every fish is different, as different as thumbprints! And now the beautfiul Sacura Speciosa:

  7. Rare fish video! In this video u can see a few borbonius anthias caught in deepwater Japan by a famous japanese deepwater collector. In the same tank are two v rare cirrhilabrus lanceolatus which all wrasse lovers can only dream of getting!
  8. They also have one of the rarest oddball fish, Anacanthus barbatus (aka beared leatherjacket) from australia.
  9. Weird then why the website put the pic of the female alleni when they are mentioning new species found. Anyway alleni is v hard to get now cos CF supplier refuse to catch anymore, much like rusty flame. These philippines collectors can be so annoying sometimes, always jux catch the wrong fishes like those butterflies that cant be kept alive and refuse to catch other easy fishes that can fetch better money!
  10. So the dottyback u got last time is still undescribed? Yes new! Nice right!
  11. It's amazing!! With a price to match! The liopropoma aberrans on sale together with it is another amazing fish caught at the same depth in curacao using submersible. The L.aberrans cost a little more, USD$9000!
  12. Rare and deepwater Hemanthias peruanus from Sea of cortez available for the trade first time! Doubt it'll be as expensive as clarions but still expensive.

  15. A pair of piscilineatus flasher wrasse arrived at one LFS in US! Pics below:
  16. That's the thing, i thought they are all yellow. Not juvenile as juvenile are even more yellow. Most probably a red variant. V nice like flame boxfish and since our climate too hot to keep a flame boxfish, this red variant helmet cowfish will be a nice alternative.
  17. How's your golden angel? My colini is surprisingly still alive despite not eating for weeks, but it will die soon unless it starts to open its mouth. Frembli butterfly is a beautiful hawaii endemic with the most unique colouration but is infrequently available. Those tat came in were usually undesirably big sizes. Smaller ones occasionally will appear at CF but each time only one or two and will be quickly taken by reefers because they are cheap, easy and beautiful. Here are some small frembli pics:
