  1. Prognathode Brasiliensis, another fish that we never see in our Brazil shipments.
  2. Nope the pair available to us through M3 was sold and taken, but not to any one of us here, so we have no chance of seeing these magnificent fish in person. Anyway i can't afford, but i know of someone who can, but we were too late to getting the fish. Sigh! This pair of personatus belongs to Dr. Wing Hung Chung from HK. He bought over this pair from a renown LFS in Japan, the B-Box Aquarium about two years back. It was price close to $30k while at B-Box, of course some discount was given, but the pair is still well over 20k when the deal was closed. This pair currently has upgraded into a bigger and dedicated system and is spawning regularly. Kudos to the amazing husbandry skills of Dr Wing.
  3. We were so close to seeing a pair of these magnificent fish coming to Singapore!
  4. Most likely. If not some where in north western side of hawaii where personatus occurs at regular scuba depth.
  5. The dogs there keep barking but are actually quite harmless. Once u get off the car and slowly walk towards it it'll move away.
  6. Top decorations with the leftover corals.
  7. It'll have a big friend joining it soon.
  8. Got back my masudai hog. It is so healthy now, cruising the tank non stop with a v big appetite! It will gobble up any amount of mysis i throw into the tank, how a hogfish should behave!
  9. Chrysostictus at BH got an updated shot in its new system.
  10. Since we are on the anthias topic. Here is a v healthy Odontanthias Unimaculatus (only from Japan) kept for over a year by a japanese. Here is a full grown fuscipinnis anthias! This one is as big as the waikiki one and it has the mean baddie look which is what makes me fall in love with the genus.
  11. From what i know, the Sacura speciosa, Sacura Parva were all dead within two nights. The liopropoma lunulatum was sent to europe and is not having swim bladder problem and most likely wont survive. The fate of that piece of Bodianus Masudai is unknown for the moment. Here are two more deepwater manado fishes they photographed: Odontanthias Chrysostictus This one i dunno wat it is. Someone who knows pls tell me!
  12. I only know of one case where an orange spot filefish survives for two years after weaning on to mysis shrimp. However most if not all die within weeks even if they do eat some brine shrimp or mysis. They are just "pretending" they are eating, but actually never enough to keep them alive. It's ok, this will be a lesson learnt as for all new reefers and you will not buy the fish again after they die.
  13. Oxymonacanthus longirostris (orange spot filefish) An obligate SPS eater. It should die within weeks in your tank unless there is enough SPS to sustain its diet.
  14. Here is an earlei fairy wrasse. This is special because this fish is caught in marshalls and not palau. First sighting and capture of earlei in marshalls. We can expect more to come in the near future.
  15. Extremely Rare fish video! Serranus luciopercanus (Caribbean deepwater, 150m) Liopropoma tonstrinum (Palau, only one japanese collector for palau fishes and the japanese get palau fishes from him a few times a year. Other palau fishes tat is only offered to Japan are aurora anthias and earlei fairy wrasse)
  16. Beautiful stonogobiops xanthorhinica with alpheus randalli Mauritius CB again.
  17. venustus angel and flavoguttatus anthias season again. Wonder how many will we kill this time.
  18. Small hawaiian frembli butterfly Beautiful Caribbean Hypsoblennius exstochilus
  19. Series of uncommon japanese fishes at LADD: Pterogobius elapoides Pteragogus aurigarius Pteragogus aurigarius Juvenile Pholis gunnellus Parioglossus dotui Myoxocephalus stelleri Hypodytes rubripinnis Heterodontus zebra Gymnothorax Kidako Cirrhitichthys aureus
  20. Yes me too. But the 4-figure price tag and high risk of decompression problems may turn u and me off. Anyway getting one is not gg to be anytime soon.
  21. Here is a C.Rapanui in a famous Japanese LFS many years back. It came in with a shipment of litus butterfly and hotumatua angel. Now that there is no more easter shipment, we can only dream of getting this fish.
