  1. The aiptasia is an infestation. He needs help to control it. Anyone has a solution?
  2. Here are two amazing hybrid lemonpeels i got from HK vanuatu shipment. Special thanks to Jimmy Ma for liaising with the shop and helping me to reserve and pack the fishes!
  3. Here are another two of his tanks. Both are big tanks. First one houses a pair of spawning interruptus, wrought iron butterfly, fuscipinnis anthias, plectranthias pelicieri, fasciatus anthias, Second one has a myriad of other fishes. Many are common but some rarer ones include giant clarion hybrid, spawning joculator pair and an aberrant black longnose butterfly that has revert to normal coloration.
  4. And here are two videos i took of the personatus tank. The tankmates of the personatus are debelius angel, basabei butterfly, flame boxfish and a suspected juvenile hybrid pomacanthus angel.
  5. During my trip i also got a chance to visit coralfriend's place. His tanks and fishes are already well documented however seeing the personatus up close in person was a breathtaking experience.
  6. Here is an amazing maculosus x koran hybrid angel i saw at one LFS (near Ngau Tau Kok MTR) during my HK trip. This fish originally belongs to Jimmy Ma which he has donated to the shop as a show fish for their show tank after it outgrows his home tank. And here is a video of the fish which the owner of the shop has kindly allowed me to take.
  7. Jimmy Ma's 4.5 footer reef tank. A pity i forgot to take the video in high definition mode. The noteworthy fishes are: 1. Aberrant white tang 2. Male genicanthus hybrid (melanospilos x bellus) 3. Female genicanthus hybrid (melanospilos x lamarck?) 4. Pellet eating ventralis anthias 5. Pellet eating aurulentus anthias 6. Tigerpyge pair 7. Grammica dartfish

  18. Gorgeous paraleucostictus! I had no luck with the fish. It's a bodianus with very unique body shape and colors. And not as aggressive as the opercularis complex. A very good bodianus to have.
  19. No lemon, it was ecsenius asutralianus, and fuel brought in a big batch. A $40 blenny, quite nice after it settles down in a reef tank. Ecsenius stictus and mandibularis only came in one piece.
  20. Bodianus Sp and Plectranthias Pelicieri Spanish Flag grouper
  21. Hi Coralfriend, I will pm you the price of rubrolineatus. I am so glad to hear you like this anthias! It is a very rare anthias and even harder to find than tosanoides. However not many reefers can appreciate the difference between rubrolineatus and fasciatus. I will not be getting another rubrolineatus even if i have the chance because I have bad track record with pseudanthias. I am happy with just one healthy one. This rubrolineatus has been with Koji for many months and is very well-conditioned. It took pellets the very first day it entered my tank. I kept it at 26 deg without any issue. My other deepwater fishes like fuscipinnis, sacura, spanish flag etc all do very well at 26 deg and some have been with me for a very long time. So i agree with you not every fish needs to be kept at super low temperature. In Sg our climate is very hot and running a tank below 24 deg long term is not viable. I am sad to hear about the difficulty of basabei butterfly. It is one fish that i hope to try in future, but because of what you are sharing with me now i guess i will have to pass on this fish. Maybe i will try a roa excelsa instead. There is one japanese that has kept a basabei butterfly long term, the reefer who also have a debelius and personatus swimming in his tank. Koji has shared with lemon that basabei is a very challenging butterfly, so i guess your experience with the fish once again convince me to stay away from it for the time being. Earlier this year Hong Kong Sealife brought in one big Roa Excelsa and one big basabei butterfly. Do you know what happened to them? Are they still alive?
  22. Thanks for pointing this out. I have never seen a juvenile here in sg. So it was not an aberrant. Sad.
