26.5-27 degree. Yes warmer water definitely has no advantages to fishes den cooler water. But saving GAIA has influenced me so much tat i realise its v important to save the environment, but i still love this hobby. So no choice my fishes have to compromise and try to settle in at a higher temp, but if they show signs of stress i'll decrease it slowly. I can only agree w u clarion adult is ugly. Resplendent i think will be v beautiful when seen in person, the blue is a stunning metallic blue like starcki and not the drab blue like flameback. Personatus!!! I'll hunt for it if i strike lottery. The snow white body of the whole fish is unmatched of, simple and elegant and not to mention mega rare. Peppermint got money still can get, personatus have money also cannot get.

Hi, One Johnrandallia Nigrirostris (aka Barberfish), approx 2 inches, for sale at $50. Eats mysis and seaweed nori. Easy fish, no special care required and it is a facultative parasite cleaner for bigger fishes like tangs and angels. Fish was bought from LCK at the same price many months ago. Reason for sale: going to keep some delicate fishes so this fish is a bit too active for my tank. I'll trap the fish if there's anyone interested. PM me. Thank You.

I jux finish my night feeding also, the male ventralis gobbled a lot of mysis, counted at least 5 mysis eaten. But the females are still not eating. So i dun think got anything to do with the temperature cos my tank is quite warm. The males are jux v healthy i guess.

Wrought iron is ugly meh? Its black metallic sheen is so cool. It's the most unique butterfly to me. Den pls prepare $10k... I got a Trio, wan to get more, like one male to 6-7 females to increase survival rate, but henry can only spare me 2 females so too bad. But these cook island ventralis seem to fare a little better than the vanuatu ones i kept last time, at least the trio are venturing out quite often, though still show little interest in food. So those who wanna try ventralis should get from this cook island batch, though price is slightly higher than vanuatu ones. Btw i keep my tank temperature at 26.5 degree.

V power shot, wat a gorgeous mix of colours. Hope they can thrive in our tank.

Tat's why we need farms like LCK. Once RCT starts production again, mux ask steven order and bring in the CB resplenden, interruptus, debelius, colini, multibar etc etc! My most favourite is not resplenden but debelius. My wish next year however is not to hear RCT's return but to see clipperton and clarion swimming in the same tank in person at LCK if the second collection trip by Cortez Marine is successful.

LFSes dun seem too willing to bring in japan shipment. They say fishes and shipping are v v expensive and if they bring in they feel will sure make a loss one. Well we can understand tat as well, not many pple are willing to spend 1k plus on a butterfly and 2k on a pgymy angel! Wrought and interruptus are not as popular as gem and conspic also. Anyway RCT is coming back, so maybe juvi interruptus, resplenden and debelius will become obtainable again. Ventralis dun like bright tank, so are u gg to dim your tank for their acclimation?
-
Your dream can come true anytime as long as u start saving for the fish. Bandit is v obtainable nowadays and the price is also not sky high like conspic, but smaller ones are still hard to come by. The last really small one (2 months ago) from Iwarna i was a bit late and it got reserved by someone, but it's good in a way cos i realise later i din really like bandit so much, saved me from an impulse buy. The price for tat piece was $700 for your latest reference so u know how much to save up.

Haha u're being such a wet blanket. But u're right, my first attempt at this fish is from the vanuatu ones, v delicate and difficult to feed and die quickly. Heard cook island ones are slightly easier, so let's pray for the best. Too bad no more females left, if not can get a group for better success.

Wa 23 degree is v low, no need tat low, think 25 will be good. My main tank increase to 26.5~27 degree, will update u how the ventralis fare at this higher temp. Your tank with such a low temp, guess your next fish will be catalina goby or interruptus or flame boxfish?

Weekly Update - 5th to 11th Oct 09
Digiman replied to Regal's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
Very nice, healthy and feeding conspic. V tempting, but price is a bit steep for that kind of size! Angels lover who dun mind paying should go for it. Ventralis anthias left only males, sigh! $3xblue each, buy more got discount. Joculator cute size, $8xblue. Only one Scotts fairy, cook island variant. Flame wrasse left one pair i think. Nice shipment of high end fishes. -
ICH still present after 10 days of medication
Digiman replied to Eniram's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Pls do not carry out hypo or copper dose in your main tank, all inverts including your mushies and rbta will perish and crash your tank! -

Anyone can advise me how/where to get Prazipro or Metronidazole? Thank You. -
First Albino Marine fish worldwide made in SA
Digiman replied to Marcel's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
I'm speaking from the general consumer point of view. I do agree if i was u i'll also try to make most money out of these clowns since u're the pioneer breeder and unlike other inventions, marine fishes have no patents and there is no stopping of worldwide breeding after the first release into the market so understandably the first batch should be expensive. For instance my jaw dropped when i see the price of CB mccullochi clowns, but the price will (ok, hopefully) eventually come down so that more hobbyists can enjoy the fish. We'll be looking for better pics as from the old pics cant see much glowing or big difference in colors to the normal clown except for red eye. A glowing clownfish will be interesting and unique and if the price is ORA scale, i dun mind getting a pair if it hits our shore. We'll be waiting for more updates. All the best. -

Interesting, esp the eyes are red, trademark of albino fishes. But if its available here locally i'll not buy. Also dun think the price of these albinos should be anything more than three times that of normal occellaris. I'm never a fan of fishes created through selective breeding, for example ORA picasso clowns are way overpriced in my opinion. However this is what i feel only and is in no way representative of the majority. In fact i think if these are available here it'll be v popular (well that's if the price is right) as look at the albino freshwater fishes (most recent i think is albino/xanthic arowana), they are gaining so much attention and popularity. So if nemo is already so popular, i think an albino nemo will definitely cause a big stir. -

Alright this is nothing new, L.Klayi. It's probably the smallest (1+inch) and most expensive fish ($4000). -
