  1. Agree! I find the head of this bandit v kingii like also. But cannot be la cos one hawaii and the other south africa.
  2. Although it's v old news le, but i jux found out this recently and tot would share w those who dunno: By cutting out the inner shroud of tunze 6025 bracket u can increase it's flow by 40% to 50% or more! I tried it on both my 6025 and the effect is amazing. In less than 5 mins i cut and trim away the shroud and run the pump and OMG i can feel the stark increase in flow with my hand. I can even see more water movement and circulation in the tank too. For those who havent read this before: Tunze Nanostream Mod and
  3. A large alpha male earlei in a japanese tank with a harem of females. Second two pics show the same male flashing. There is a video taken on this tank but cant find it anymore, guess it's removed. And the pics are not enhanced cos i remembered the flashing earlei in the video has even more awesome colours that the pic cant capture.
  4. U ought to be confused cos the fish is Cirrhilabrus cf. lanceolatus. An excerpt from H.Tanaka on pintail: "It is one of undescribed species of Cirrhilabrus. It is known from southern Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines, and it almost enters the aquarium trade from Cebu. Not known from Indonesian waters but it may exist in northern part around Sangihe Islands or Manado, Sulawesi. Males have a reddish line on side that curves just above pectoral-fin base; it is not seen in lanceolatus or roseafascia. The species gows to 12cm at maximum as far as I know. It loves deeper waters and usually commands a high price in market. It is very similar in appearance to lunatus from northwestern Pacific but the latter has a deeply lunate caudal fin; they mix well in nature and reproduce hybrid cross on rare occasion." So the difference is jux a reddish line on the side?? How can non-expert hobbyists like us tell! Jux like the difference between allardi and chrysopterus, it's killing me. Anyway a gorgeous pic below from LA:
  5. The pintail more likely to get cos found in cebu philippines. Pintail is so much nicer than roseafascia imo. US no earlei for many years liao. Japan seems to be able to get earlei every now and then. I always see their websites having new updates of earlei. Below is another one that appeared recently w another ultra rare fish, the debelius angel.
  6. We're v lucky to get these stuff (and most other stuff) cheaper. However we haven seen purple helfrichi and earlei yet so u cant be sure they are more expensive and i doubt they'll be over S$1k if they do appear.
  7. Are u kidding? If u've seen how BH priced those fishes, the most expensive ones are tiny B.Sanguineus(~298000Yen), small Yellow Anthias(~298000Yen), small bandit(~258000Yen). The others are ex but not as ex, Medium Large Conspic(~198000Yen), Cook Island Helfrichi(~98000Yen) and Earlei Pair(~168000). These are the prices that i remembered for the exact same fishes u see in the picture. I've seen a short video of a flashing alpha earlei wrasse on a japanese website and it's OMG!! Lost the link to the website, if not will post the link here and it'll sure change your opinions on earlei. Tat piece price is atractive but size is not. It was such a great fish and my greatest loss!
  8. Anyone know if LCK still hav marcellae butterfly? Thanks.
  9. Declivis, mitratus, racoon etc your list sounds more like a fowlr den reef! This hybrid is only gaining popularity only recently. It has been appearing on and off before and it costs so cheap becos it was not recognised. Now if it appear it'll be a different thing. Maybe add one more zero to 25!
  10. Cant be more ex den joculator right? I wan a rusty-flame hybrid and a small joculator, they have nice contrasting colours.
  11. Last time was v rare. But now there has been a steady stream of these fishes from cebu philippines. However there're a lot of variations in these rusty-flame hybrid. The more amazing ones can be like this:
  12. Dun need to find out cos cannot keep. It grow to 14 to 16 inches and is a v fierce predator living in coldwater. A female is drab looking:
  13. Look at this. Redsea pearlscale and omg a dirty flavo(burgess x flavo most likely)! Two fishes that i really dun mind having..
  14. Smokey lemonpeel from LA and a hybrid lemonpeel. Actually i can never get how they define smokey and normal hybrid lemonpeel!! No difference wat!
  15. May hav posted this but still nice to see again. A completely washed out multicolor!
  16. The less well known but rarer eibli x heraldi (It's rarer than tigerpyge cos lemonpeel is considered eibli complex so they hybridize readily, but heraldi is bicolor complex and not eibli complex so when they hybridize it's even rare.)
  17. Pictures time. Why haven these rusty flame hybrid some to us. I want one so badly!
  18. Can someone tell me why this griessingeri goby looks a bit different?
  19. as for big angels, i've left them out for now. don't want to add too many fish so have to slowly narrow down my choices.
