  1. Anyway RB has like three of these deepwater coral beauty (Amidst our random chit chatting mux insert a few informative posts, Lemon is there a way for moderator like u to delete the posts in a thread?).
  2. Black Longnose is really rare, jux like the pure white yellow tang, so rare even to sight the fish. So if they catch one, it'll go to japan and not us! Yes tat fish is ugly! Maybe Terryz like it.
  3. Yap, I mean like a different family of fish the plesiops family, Belonepterygion family also show a high variations in colours.
  4. Possibly, since it has occassionally been known to appear in indo shipment and sold at a ridiculously cheap price because the supplier has no idea wat the fish is. Me. The photo is one in the wild and one in captivity will never exhibit the same vibrant colour. Tat's one reason why fremblii is not popular. Terryz will prob beg to differ, he will say not black enough, nox blacker. I've not to much info on this fish. But like the plesiops family there can be a wide variations in colours in the same species, so if u can get a v red one it'll be nice, but definitely not v rare. Below is a pic of a redder one from bluezoo:
  5. With money, there's nothing tat cant be done.. I'm not v old but this dream jux seems so far off.. Anyway i heard the dusky heraldi at CF is too bright for your liking? U wanted it to be darker and muddier. If it's bright i may be interested, when i come back next week i'll go down to CF and take a look. Work hard, marginalis is more obtainable. Attenuatus quite hard w the states pple now competing for the fish. Octotaenia is the same story as redsea pearlscale, relatively common but v rarely seen in the trade, dunno why?! Anyway will wait for my redsea pearlscale, den hopefully the next fish will be wrought iron or something..
  6. Three beautiful deepwater Plectranthias, i wan the second one so badly! 1. Plectranthias Sagamiensis (Japan, Indonesia) 2. Plectranthias Pelicieri (Japan, Mauritius, Tonga) 3. Plectranthias Kelloggi (Japan)
  7. A rare hybridfrom Hawaii: Chaetodon Miliaris x Chaetodon Multicinctus
  8. Beautiful Paracheilinus Attenuatus (aka Diamond Tail Flasher wrasse) from Kenya, Africa. Here's a video of one flashing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPomx4WBUtY&feature=player_embedded
  9. xhatch male has awesome colours, but they're BIG! My old pair in my 5 feet is like the bare minimum for them, and probably they require 8 feet or more to be really comfortable.
  10. C.Smithi cannot get, there was one and only one batch available (of which Waikiki got one) and no further collection. O.Leslie also cannot get. Named after diver Leslie Whaylen who discovered the fish. Like C.Smithi also one and only one batch collected and for science. Three surviving in Waikiki the rest of the batch all died and preserved. Haha something like this? How good if my fish died and can make into a plastic model as memorial.
  11. Like A.Guezei and C.Narcosis, are all v deepwater and rare in their own habitat. So i dun think C.Guyotensis is extinct, it's jux so rare that it's hiding there and below waiting to be discovered again. Like Roa Excelsa from Hawaii, for so many years photos are based only on dead specimen until recently it is discovered again and caught alive though the ending is not a happy one. Have seen this video before, the first one v golden, v nice.
  12. Tat's wat i meant b4, i prefer v yellow (or golden) rhomboid over the bluish purple one. All the super duper rare hybrid butterflies and the super rare raops guyotensis u posted are absolutely amazing and the pics in the book are one and only one. They neither appear in the trade nor are seen anymore. CF have another 2 books, one on basslet and the other on angelfish, the pics inside are equally amazing and the angel hybrids do not lose shine to the butterfly hybrids.
  13. A nice hyb lemon, abnormal colored regal and a dunno wat aberrant centropyge.
  14. Most should have seen this: Distribution of flame angelfish.
  15. The Dusky Heraldi (Centropyge Nox x Centropyge Heraldi) There are so many variations, so Lemon which one below resemble the $350 one at CF?
  16. This kind of King angelfish are not hybrids. They're xanthic aberrations which will revert to normal after sometime. I remember Cortez Marine (the same one which collect clarion for us) which collects such kings call them "calico king" or something, not v sure of the spelling though.
  17. A series of dwarf hybrids and aberrants. Think Terryz only like the dark dusky heraldi!
  18. The queen is from St Paul's Rocks Brazil. If u check my earlier posts in this thread i've posted numerous pics of the st paul queens, there are pure white colour ones, full yellow, green, koi colour etc etc. V interesting variations. P.Obliquus also from St Paul's Rocks. There are no more collections there so these fishes including the st paul Queen are extremely rare fishes.
  19. Anyway jux to post the fish that amazes me the most recently. A better pic found on the liopropoma sp. The red tail variant vs the normal yellow tail one. Now i've a target to look out for during indo shipment!
  20. I'm not amazing, i jux remembered these info when i read an article on Richard Pyle interview where he talked about the butterfly and C.Abei in his deep dive in Palau.
  21. That butterflyfish is an undescribed species which bear 99% resemblance to prognathode basabei from Hawaii. One was caught during the deep dive which collect the abei and the undescribed prognathode is still alive and on display in Waikiki Aquarium.
  22. Post before but post again. A v orange coral beauty. Even more orange than the clarion beside it.
  23. C.Abei is imo one of the nicest dwarf. Since it's found in our nearby waters, maybe one day can see it, when the fish decide to emerge from the v v deep!
  24. Back to some hybrid.. Dunno wat hybrid butterfly but look v interesting:
