  1. It's not vibrant w yellow and no blue can be seen. It's a dull greyish green with yellow linings, i cant say it's beautiful but i like it a lot becos of it's small size. I think one can easily argue tat the common green chromis is more colourful than vanderbilt. In my tank w dark settings, it looks exactly like the photo i attached below, maybe not as colourful as u imagined? Yes i've seen triocellatus in Ah Beng a few times also and quite cheap, slightly over one red note.
  2. CF. Wetmorella is v uncommon but not v rare nor expensive. I've seen it a few times at Ah Beng and a few different species, but each time only come one piece and for such a cute and small fish it's normally grabbed within hours.
  3. Can no prob. I'm also still thinking if i should sell the wrasses or not. Dunno wat exactly i wan to keep. Jux found the wetmorella triocellata died, so sad cos it's such a beautiful fish and i dun even get to see it for more than a day.
  4. Ya cos auntie mis-ID (but come to think of it she may not have mis-IDed cos chromis lineata and chromis vanderbilt look v similar apart from some black streaks at the ###### and caudal fin) as another chromis and i was shocked the receipt show only $2 per fish when i make payment at the counter. Wanted to get a whole school of 12 actually but all died and left only 3 at CF. V sensitive chromis. Next weekend should be ok. U wan my lineatus and laboutei as well?
  5. Multibar is also v difficult! I tried many times and all started breaking down in a few weeks. But yours look v healthy, hope they can do well. The vanderbilt chromis i got from CF are so sensitive, one died in hours and other two are hiding but finally saw them coming out tonight to feed. They're actually v v beautiful and is the smallest of all chromis. Keeping a big school will be even nicer. So u're ready to get back your roseafascia fairy?
  6. Multibar, v difficult fish also. I admire your undying spirit in trying these high failure rate fishes. Wish u success and hope your tank will turn out to be something like Iwarna's Angelfish tank. I saw it yesterday and the their tank is awesome!
  7. CF has maldive fishes BlackFoot clowns Rubrisquamis Wrasse (only one) Xanthocephalus butterfly (only one) Carberryi Anthias (v healthy and nice) Yellow Belly Regal angels (a lot, M and L size only) etc.. RD Awesome Acans. Very few fishes left, cos most of them are transferred to Iwarna.
  8. Tat's becos it's not the "armitagei" armitagei. It's a hawaii armitagei or better known as goldflake x flagfin. The armitagei angel from maldive tat we are more familiar with is the result of flagfin x xanthurus.
  9. So a complex is purely due to physical resemblance and no scientific and DNA difference? Seems like only genus with any species contains complexes. Example centropyge genus has many complex groups whereas the smaller chaetodontoplus genus has no complex groups. So i wonder how do one categorize fishes within the same genus into complex groups, solely by physical resemblance only? Then why not categorize all the genus then. For example the genus prognathodes also has no known complexes, but if we look at physical differences, then there can be complexes as well: (Prognathode Dichrous and Prognathode Obliquus) compared with (Prognathode Marcellae and Prognathode Aya)
  10. Yellow gramma, so nice and wat's better it should be an easy and hardy fish like royal gramma. Cuban should open up their marine industry, start collecting their fishes and export out. Many pple cant wait already, like Chingchai is now trying ways and means to get this fish and i think he has found a way! V similar, but one is a damsel damsel and other a chromis damsel. Chromis always has a better reputation then damsel. Like yellowtail damselfsh and chromis flavicauda are so similar, but the latter is jux more exciting and expensive as well.
  11. Got, those uncommon gobies (esp those tiny species) are the most confusing to me. I jux read and find out more abt fishes, both marine and freshwater, cos i like fishes a lot. But when u ask me about corals, i know so little compared to many in src. Till now i still cant be bother about the different species of acroporas, to me they are all the same, acros that is.
  12. It's the new undescribed sabre goby from curacao caught recently with klayi and evides. They're slightly more expensive than klayi. From the left: Belonoperca pylei, Belonoperca chabanaudi juvi wild, an undescribed liopropoma tat is suspected to be a variant color form of Liopropoma collettei, Aulacocephalus temminckii, Belonoperca chabanaudi again.
  13. No different, latifasciatum is way bigger in size.
  14. Rhomboid pics are always so nice, but when i keep it it's so dull in person. I'm now thinking of a way to keep the lineatus tone and slim.
  15. Hooded from RB recently is the aussie hooded. Vanuatu hooded is nicer and more common but now no vanuatu shipment liao! Majorie is from Fiji, if LCK can get Fiji colini i dun see why fiji majorie cant reach us! Pintail is from cebu, so near to us and yet so many of them are flown all the way to US instead of coming to us!
  16. Fish collected by a senior reefer. Thread closed thank u.
  17. Rhomboids come from marshalls and the islands are not big and far enough to cause any geographical variants. So i guess these are minor differences between individual fishes. In one same shipment, u can find some nice males w long pelvic fins and other males w shorter pelvic fins, so i think it all depend on the fish itself. Jux like human beings, within the same race also have tall and short, curly hair straight hair etc! Tat is why pple chiong rhomboid shipment, everybody wants to snatch the one with the longest tail and fins.
  18. Rhomboid again? So boring try something else ba. Roseafascia pair? Where u gg to get a pair, now only two females and w lineatus and rhomboid males in your stocklist it'll be likely the two females will stay females forever. Lineatus will grow into an ugly fat fish! I prefer the following wrasses if they ever become available here: Hooded, majorie and pintail wrasse
  19. Hmm one pic of a roseafascia w split tail does not mean all will grow to have split tails. Likewise i can find u ten pictures of alpha male roseafascia and rhomboid with no split tails. Rhomboid tail is a confirmed characteristic of these fishes whereas split tail or not depend on individual fishes. Perhaps the more alpha it gets the more likely it has split tail, maybe u can do an investigation on this split tail trait!
  20. Yes the mitratus is most prob dying to begin w since u mentioned this shipment of mitratus is in a v bad shape. Else mitratus should be a v hardy and easy fish. So that serves as a lesson for u not to buy fish on impulse especially during shipment day and where the fishes are not in a v good condition.
  21. Yes i bought one when i went back to LCK on the next day w an intention to get the unusual personifer but irritating steven wans to keep the fish for himself. I dun wish to end up not buying anything again like the latz case the day before and so got one lineatus. The lineatus is not really flashing at them yet. I've a v high water column now because i flattened all the rockworks, so hopefully tat has decreased their chance of jumping. As for the lineatus, I'll sell it before it turn into a fat and ugly fish!
  22. I jux reached home and found your mitratus dead. My prayers were not answered. But on the good side all three wrasses are showing themselves and swimming in the open. The big lineatus seem to be keeping the two roseafascia in check causing the two to swim tightly together. This goes on both roseafascia will stay submale or female and neither will grow into big male w nice rhomboid tail. Maybe when u fetch them back u can build a small harem of other juvenile wrasses to promote their growth into alpha male. And their current pink has faded a bit compared to yesterday because they've grown familiarity and comfort w the surroundings, but they still hold the same intensity of pink as the second photo u posted. On the other hand the lineatus is playing king showing a lot of colours and character, think i'm growing fond of the fish.
  23. Dear all, Following for sale: One Liopropoma Latifasciatum at 3 inches. Selling Price: $50 Collection: Woodlands. FCFS, no reservation of more than 3hrs. U can sms me at 96951347. Freebie: A bottle of brand new unopened, 100g Ocean Nutrition Formula One marine pellet medium size will be given free with the purchase. Remarks: This fish has been with me for 9 months at least, v healthy and is a glutton, it'll eat anything tat fall into the water, pellets, prawn chunks, mysis, flake, nori, everything. This fish is a bit special, it has lost almost all it's black stripe so is a bit different from the other pics u google on net. Below is a current pic of the fish:
  24. I'm v reluctant to deliver such bad news early in the morning: Your mitratus as expected is not doing well. It's currently lying on its side on the tank floor and breathing even more heavily. On pushing the fish it'll swim back up and become v active then after a while it'll lay back to its side. From this situation i've to say it's a goner 100%, will not survive pass today. How do u wish for me to handle it's body after it die? Return to u or i dispose of it myself? The roseafascia colours are v nice, make the lineatus looks drab. Such beautiful fishes hope no accidents will happen on them. Your rockscape is nice enough already for now, i like simple concept, spacious, not too overpacked. Eventually when u start adding corals and fishes u'll need to shift the rocks around.
  25. The roseafascia are still hiding together w the lineatus. But i think soon they'll swim out cos jux now i caught sight of both swim out of their hiding spot for a while and omg their reddish pink colours are awesome in my tank w subdued lighting. The colours of the lineatus is also v nice in the dark tank. I think these deepwater wrasses are better appreciated in a dimly lit tank, they hold their colours better maybe. Now they have, but most not v healthy and dieing. Best to wait for a healthy batch if u wan to get a lot such as 10 and above. Sad to say i dun have too much confidence in keeping your mitratus alive. The fish doesn't look v healthy. I'll pray for the fish.
