Digiman replied to Digiman's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
Cortez Marine collecting again. We'll be seeing more clarions.. Reefbuilder: Blue crown clarion and double rainbow passer, the passer is nicer than the clarion! -
Mine still hiding under a rock. The green one comes out already but has taken a spot i dun like it to be in.

I will not worry about tat because R.Kimura and his team has good reputation for deepwater collection and these fishes are prob ascend over many hours or even days like how they did for P.Basabei. Furthermore fuscipinnis and sanguineus are v hardy and easy fishes, so likely they'll survive and do well. -

Not true, both are still rare, but jux not as rare as before. B.Sanguineus also on and off will appear in japan and sizes can vary quite a lot. H.fuscipinnis is v v nice when u see it in person. Two has appeared in singapore and a third one was not brought in because no market. US pple are so lucky now, from reefcentral: a 50cents size true hawaii flame, fuscipinnis and tiny sanguineus. -

P.Heemstrai will not be collected, jux like the beautiful red sea endemic P.Taeniatus is also not collected. Redsea is v big, there is only a small part of red sea with collection. Yellow tail lio is actually v v nice and it's quite common also. But tried twice and both died of swim bladder problem. Oh my tat's ancient news liao! Anyway now these fishes are not so rare as before as diver rufus kimura and his team has made another deep dive recently and there are many many holanthias fuscipinnis caught and also a 1.5 inche bodianus sanguineus. If there's a chance i hope to get the sanguineus hog again, big or small, it's such a lovable and boisterous fish, like my dog. -

Ya for the time being will pass on the dusky heraldi ba. I shall stop try to convince u pple who dun understand and appreciate how pretty the corals can be. I jux need two or three more big leather pieces to fill up some gap den i'll post an updated video to prove u all wrong! -

I did not. Cos buy multilineatum liao dun wanna add so many fishes at one go, mux control. Also still feel 350 no discount is really too much for a fish tat may slowly fade back to yellow. Anyway quite confident the fish will always remain there till the day i decide to get it. The second one is the same as the older one, except a bit smaller. No rare stuff except the multilineatum i took. Oh still have the v scary jumbo flame wrasse, i was so shock by its size! Many many bluelines. I'm most happy w my soft corals purchase at CF today, so big and nice and cheap. -

Anyway the dusky heraldi at CF seems to revert to yellowish v slowly, esp the tail area. But came in another one, so there's two now and harder to clear than before! -
My tank is big, so is yours. Cant possibly keep flooding cyclopeeze, nutrients will shoot up and w a tank of our size hard to do frequent water change!
-
V nice, mine fully open already. How nice would it be if it can survive long term.

Can, try not to collect too late as the fish is residing in my sump and i cant feed fishes when they are in my sump as will choke my chiller. So if u dun wan a skinny fish, try to collect the fish fast. Anyway from Reefbuilder: Deepwater carribbean Serranus Phoebe caught alongside snow basslet (S.chionaraia). So S.phoebe nicer or S.chionaraia nicer? Personally i vote S.chionaraia. -

The yellowish multilineatum is actually v rare. The multilineatum at CF is the normal coloured ones like the third photo. Nevertheless, still v beautiful. They are so alert and healthy. Oh pls the fish is so obvious.. -

Coral beauty itself is v boring. However if we look back this thread, there are so many rare CB hybrids or variants tat are tat may not be more beautiful but are more interesting than rusty flame. Jux to recap a few from this thread: Mauritian CB, CB x Multicolor, deepwater orange beauty, full orange CB, aberrant CB, CB x flame etc etc. -

Yes agree, 180 is a more decent price for dusky heraldi. In terms of looks, the fish doesn't really deserve to be priced the same as a joculator! The flame i dunno, so little info on tat piece. Check your angelfish book lo and see if got similar piece and anything special mentioned. -

U pple are horrible! Keep encouraging me to buy a fish which more than 90% of the pple will say it's ugly not to mention is so expensive. Anyway here's a flame angel w no black pigment posted b4 which cost USD2k: -

You've to look carefully. Two or three lines pairing to form V shape is not uncommon. That specimen has all six lines pairing up and tat becomes more interesting. But again black lines on flame is v random, so it's not something to woo wah about. If can find no black pigment or maquesas variant i'll buy. Also, when is my rusty flame coming.... The groucho lemonpeel is so interesting, it's wearing a sunglasses on its head and has white bluish speckles all over it's body. Cant imagine the person who bought this from Iwarna and not posting any photos! I wan to see if the fish is similar to the pic posted or perhaps even more amazing. The deepwater coral beauty has rekindled my hybrid craze! Tmr go CF buy the dusky heraldi. Photo of the coral beauty mux wait, if it survives for two weeks and stable down i'll post. -

As terry mentioned, double bared thru out e body. This variation of tiger markings is v rare and i dun think can ever find one like this. Pple! U all should be discussing about the first and second hybrid, it's so rare and interesting and beautiful and i can go on and on about them!! Esp the second one, so hard to tell wat two angels cross to produce something like this, maybe it's triple hybrid. Yes 99.99% same. Tat's why i muz thank u for helping me to reserve the fish, cos the other two really no standard! Ugly compared to a blue queen. -
