Add a tiny regal angel, they appear quite often at Ah Beng. V cute and nice.

U will not find a 10c argi anytime soon. Even if u can find one, your existing flameback will kill it. How about adding Apogon parvulus? I fall in love with this fish recently.

Getting nicer and nicer. U need more fishes though, u know me, a tank is never complete without more interesting fishes.

OMG! Look at these hybrids and rare fishes!
Digiman replied to Digiman's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
According to article, the difference is in the colour, xmas more orange while hawaii more red. The barring is highly variable in xmas species, so using barrings as a gauge is not v accurate and definitely not convincing. Never mind u can send your pic to Dr Tanaka, Copps and GB to see wat's their take on this. -

But i've saw a few v red christmas flame tat to me is indistinguishable to the hawaii flame. And with so many flames exported out each year, how sure are they that the hawaii red form does not occur in christmas island at a small percentage say like 0.1%? Also genetically they are the same. What all the articles hav wrote are based on colour and patterns variant. Jux like how Copps feel the rusty flame hybrid is the same fish as shepardi angel, i still feel a hawaii red form of flame angel can also occasinally be found in christmas island. -

I think the better question to ask is: Is the Hawaii red flame only limited to Hawaii? Can the more red christmas flame be as red and indistinguishable from the true hawaii flame. If the answer is yes, den there is no need to hype over the true hawaii flame and pay 1k for the fish! -
Bro, Up for your rollandi damsels, super good price. Pple, fyi these rollandi are the rarer fiji variants and they are selling at $45 each in the LFS! The best thing about these damsels are they are one of the most peaceful damsels around and stay small, i've kept them before and they are more peaceful than a chromis! They are v interesting to watch becos they will exhibit interesting pelvic fins flaring behaviour and also the pic does not justify how cute and beautiful they are. These little jewels from Fiji will sure to brighten up any tank.

Crosshatch are the nicest triggerfish! However most of the time they are too big, 7 to 8 inches! So unless u've a 5ft tank at least, it's not possible to keep these beauties long term. Tat's why it'll always remain an unpopular fish. But if anyone wants to get these triggers, it is not tat rare. Let LCK and Iwarna know and they'll special order for u. Price is about 200 to 350 depends on size, male or female. -

There will be aussie shipment coming soon at LCK. But unlikely will there be conspics. U can go LCK and express interests to steven and that will hasten him to bring in the fish when he has the chance to. Conspic was never 1.5k tat cheap. Those one or two tat came in thru aussie supplier is selling at 2k each. The cheapest was the last batch (not from LCK usual aussie supplier) when almost ten pieces came in and price range from 1750 to 1950 depending on sizes. If u wan conspic u can talk to lemon too, he has another source. -

OMG go Taiwan too look for fishes and corals? Dun bother! I visited the most famous aquatic street in Taipei and talked to a few marine LFS owners there and they themselves feel the market is so disappointingly small. No where compared to ours. But their freshwater and exotics are on the other hand more vibrant then ours. They can keep snakes, exotic turtles, reptiles, hedgehogs, ferrets etc. Also a lot of rare freshwater fishes there like tanganyika and amazon plecs and rays are sold there slightly cheaper then in singapore.

Let me chime in a little from my experience w cupramine. 2) How much is enough? Yap always underdose first. Normally lower than wat is recommended is good enough. Also overdosing will kill your fishes much faster than the disease will. So always underdose first and increase gradually when necessary. 3)Can copper be removed and can i put in coral after that? I use carbon to remove the copper. After 8 months i converted the same tank to a softies tank with no problem at all. I used back the liverocks that has been coppered as well. So i dare say hardy corals like softies and some LPS can be put into the tank after a few months of carbon treatment. But more sensitive LPS and SPS are not advisable! 4)Which testkit is good? I tried and find all test kits are not good. In other words copper is v hard to measure. However the better one is probably salifert, but to certain extent still hard to read the colours accurately. 5)What is the first symptom of overdosing? To me the bigger angels and butterflies and triggers during overdosing the first sign is losing balance when swimming or showing abnormal swimming behaviour. During such situations change 50% of the water immediately will save the fish in time. 9)Can i maintain long term copper in my tank to prevent parasite. Maintaining copper at low level long term to prevent disease outbreak is viable to me. However i've not tried it long term, like more than 2 years so i cant comment on the health effects on the fishes in the long run. All in all i feel those who keep fishes, esp angels and butterflies should always have a bottle of cupramine in hand. In times of need, the fish can be caught out and out in QT or even pail and treat w cupramine. Petmart and Ah Beng have ready supply of cupramine. Iwarna i think i saw a few bottles too.

I'm still waiting for his Conspic to enter his tank. His conspic is undergg QT while he catch out his queen angelfish. He is extra cautious this time as this is his second attempt on conspic, the first one did not survive due to the stress from other big angels. RC this month TOTM features John Copps Tank which is also legendary in terms of fish rarity. As a rare fish geek myself, to me his tank is as interesting and amazing as chingchai's tank. RC Jan TOTM His two nano tanks are wat impresses me and the fishes intrigues me to no extent!

Conspic season. Lemon reported there conspics can be found all over the LFS in HK. He saw at least 15 pieces during his trip. But bringing a conspic back is v unlikely as the fish is big and will require too much water during packing which will exceed the limit. So the solution is to get a small one, and here is a tiny one:
