This is a hang-on skimmer that I used for 9 months. Then I decide to upgrade. Red Sea Prizm is sleek and slim and I would say it is good for 3-footer and below, though the packaging says it can skim up to 100 gallon tank. It comes with a pump. There is one flaw: I broke the water outlet cascade while cleaning the skimmer. I glued the broken pieces back. You could see it in the foto. Not to worry, this does not affect the performance of the skimmer. BTW, this skimmer could also be submerged in the sump. Bought it at $190, selling at $100. Have been thinking of upgrading to this skimmer and realised there is no review on this product on this forum. Anyone using this care to share? Other than its efficiency and noise level, how is the maintenance work like? Is removal of waste in cup easy? I have a 2.5" euro bracing (including thickness of glass wall) and would have problem hanging this skimmer since the gap allowance between the main body and the cascade water outlet is only 1". Should I just saw off the cascade and DIY a suitable one? Many thanks in advance

Hi, My friend has a 6" dsb in his refugium, with macroalgae "planted" on it. After 7months, only the top 0.5" has turned abit brownish. The remaining 5.5" remains "pure and clean". Is this normal while waiting for the DSB to mature (which I understand will take at least 1 year)? There are only a few turbo snails in the refugium. Water from main tank passes through mechnical filtration and protein skimmer before reaching the refugium. Fyi, the sand are of grade 0 (90%) and 1. Anyone can advise? Thanks,

Need some advice from the experts ... I had a brown torch for a few months, and then suddenly, one day, part of it was engulfed in a brownish filmy thingy. This slowly spread to the whole of the torch. The next day, the torch was dried up and gone Can anyone explain what happened? My other corals (eg. jewel, goniopora, brains) are doing fine. Thanks!
