Hi all, just wanted to share my 2 feet nano tank. It was setup close to 1.5 years ago. Over the past month, my clownfish have started breeding as well (laid eggs for the 2nd time in a month). Hope you enjoy the pictures. Managed to ID the algae as Gelidium. Could I chk if calcium hydroxide will still help?

Sorry guys just realised that what I have is actually a turban snail (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+526+1755&pcatid=1755). Maybe I should get a mexican turbo snail to help with the hair algae.

Hi all, I have been running my reef tank for about a year now. All was going well when I suddenly got this algae problem. As I was slightly busy at work it soon got out of hand. I have since did multiple water changes over 2 weeks to bring down the level of nitrates and phosphates. I have also just changed my T5 light tubes (running about 8 hours a day). At the moment, I have 2 turbo snails in the tank. They don't seem to be eating this algae. Can I know what algae this is (is it red hair algae?)? Any other critters or fish that I can add to help eat this algae? Will a seahare help? Appreciate any advice. Thanks guys! Problem algae covering my coralline algae Zoom in shot of the problem algae

Hi everyone.. I'm pretty new to keeping marine fishes.. Currently, i'm still cycling my tank... However, I don't like the look of having a protien skimmer within the tank as it is unsightly and occupies space.. Are there are external skimmers which are suitable for my tank? By the way i'm only planning to keep a fowler tank for a start..
