I just came back yesterday from Manado. Great dive destination... stayed at the Kima Bajo Spa resort and dived with Odyssea Divers. Dived at both Bunaken and Lembeh... the reputation of it as THE place for muck diving is undisputed... I have never seen so many firsts in one dive holiday before... even better than Sipadan! I got a new Canon A620, Inon 2000 strobe/ultralight rig, Inon macro lens and here's what I shot... Here's some clownfishes...
-
Get the Canon 620 instead. Fantastic camera... G series performance at A series prices!!! Very fast focusing, 1cm macro, DigicII processor, compact, cheap U/W housing from Canon, easy to change batteries (AA)... I'll be posting pix from my Manado trip soon!

Heh... I get VIP entry... bypassing the ridiculously long queues. In fact last Friday nite was there till closing... I think we opened like 15 bottles of Chivas, Martell, Absolut Vodka...

I caught a very huge one in Similan Islands before. Easily 7 ft long. Powerful shark it was. -
(finally get to use this smilie again!) Hope it'll be many more to come! Manado... here I come! Hope to bring back loads of nice pix to share! Happy New Year, everyone and do behave... the Silent Mods are watching you!

Actually, the one who signs up needs to verify and authenticate his signup account, just like any other forum. Maybe he didn't click on the link in his email from SRC.com yet?

Hahaha... looking back... so much fun.. then so much heart pain... up and down, up and down... the story of life!

Batfish are not recommended to be kept in captive reef tanks. They are problematic feeders.

Nice tank! And welcome to SRC!

OMG! That really brought back memories! LOL!! So funny!!! Anyone can find back the movies??

I hate washing sand! You has have to grit your teeth and go through it.... no choice, looking at the quality of so-called 'washed sand' so in our LFS... you'll be shocked at the amount of rubbish inside!
-
What authorities? We had so much talk but no action. We had many shops offer to become a 'meeting place' for SRC members. Actually, all the LFS are already like meeting places for SG reefers! Also 'No money also no talk'... maybe one day when I strike Toto then I can buy a property to build a physical clubhouse and hire staff to run it. In the meantime... lets dream together!

If I could quote a phrase or two from the movie Matrix..... humans are parasites!

I'm sure BH has already learnt a lesson in timing and also a lesson on human nature, both good.... and bad, exhibited here in this thread. Now I would kindly ask those not involved to back off from commenting on this issue. Anyone continuing to harassing BH or those who have written to the press will be deemed as wanting to breach the peace and violating the Golden Rules here in SRC.
-
I had to time to sit back and watch everyone say their piece. Sadly for some involved, what happened is either bad-timing, deserved or simply plain bad luck. No use griping about who said what, when and why. It has already happened. I hope the parties involved will do what's right and do what's honourable. The motives of those who started this were not malicious (at least to all who know them) and they meant well. It has not taken an unhappy turn yet (so therefore pls don't add pepper and salt pls), so let's remain in this vein. CR could have been nasty or rude but they have held their head high and taken the trouble to explain the situation so lets give them the space to do so. I don't think they are as sue-happy as the Americans. They are just under legal advicement and so far probably waiting for a few individuals who never think before they talk to make a mistake on statements that WILL get them sued. Don't make that error in judgment pls... as for the rest of us, its ok to vent on the poor conditions but as long as we know that the rest of the public is watching this issue closely, then I am sure the company or personel involved will have a lot to prove for their own reputation. I take it as some of you who spoke up have done good for the hobby but perhaps if alternative measures such as writing in to the company first before complaining in a public newspaper could have been the better route. Anyway, BH and all who did write in, we know your intentions and I salute your guts, passion and determination to make a difference. CR, you have my respect for not being nasty and maintaining good PR as a company. Let's hope we can turn something bad into something good... you know the saying... any publicity, (given bad ones), is good publicity! Cheers!
