  1. Hi everyone, Our first few threads in SRC were lost when my server had to move.... and so I am reposting my amateur dive photos again... enjoy!! Moorish Idol over SPS coral bed.
  2. Oh... many many moons ago in RW, they did bring this in before.... I didn't buy it coz I know it's a filter feeder... hard to keep.
  3. SDUU, It's the same genus.. lol.... dun worry abt it!
  4. Yeah... we use that on metal hulls of boats! The zinc anodes placed on metal plates underwater will 'attract' corrosion. Go Navy! But in this case, there is no electrical field in the metal stand to react with, unlike any metal object you place in corrosive saltwater. I don't see how this would work out of water as there is no electrolytic action. AT
  5. It's a bacterial bloom... no need to panic. Once the bacteria depletes its food source in the water.. it will die out. Give it a week.
  6. Want to see a cat's eye bubble coral in the wild? I shot this in ... maybe about 25ft? I didn't have a strobe... so I was using my dive torch to illuminate it.
  7. I thought anything HO than PL is considered VHO?
  8. Hi beanzie, Welcome to SRC! It's probably a fungul infection on your clownfish from what you described. I have used Fungus X-tinguisher in the past to treat fungus. For the worm thingy... if you can photograph it, it will help to ID it for you. AT
  9. That's a seasquirt, Atriolum robustum. They are phytoplankton/bacteria feeders. I took this photo during a wreck dive... here's a huge one found on an anchor.
  10. Yes T5s are considered as VHO... they require an e-ballast to run. T5s for marine is being developed now... so you will be getting it in a few weeks/months time. Standby for news from me... as usual... my HK connection happens to be the best T-52 distributor in Hk... he's sending me a sample in a month's time for product review!
  11. I used Hammerite too for my old tank! Works great! Rust will take a long long time to corrode metal to the point of structural failure.... wood rot on the other hand... well... unless you have expensive chengai wood.... I personally never trust wood. Wood absorbs water.
  12. Her Side of the Story : ======================= He was in an odd mood Saturday night. We planned to meet at a pub for a drink. I spent the afternoon shopping with the girls and I thought it might have been my fault because I was a bit later than I promised, but he didn't say anything much about it. The conversation was very slow going so I thought we should go off somewhere more intimate so we could talk a bit more privately. We went to this restaurant and he was STILL acting a bit funny. I tried to cheer him up and started to wonder whether it was me or something else. I asked him, and he said no. But I wasn't really sure. So anyway, in the car on the way back home, I said that I loved him deeply and he just put his arm around me. I didn't know what the hell that meant because you know he didn't say it back or anything, this is really worrying me. We finally got back home and I was wondering if he was going to leave me! So I tried to get him to talk but he just switched on the TV, and sat with a distant look in his eyes that seemed to say it's all over between us. Reluctantly, I said I was going to go to bed. Then after about 10 minutes, he joined me and to my> surprise, he responded to my advances. But, he still seemed really distracted, so afterwards I just wanted to confront him but I just cried myself to sleep. I just don't know what to do anymore. I mean, I really think he's seeing someone else and that my life is a disaster. His Side of the Story: ====================== ENGLAND lost to Brazil.

  14. You're a sick sick man! You dun have to influence us all to get into your secret fetishes....
  15. Erhmm.... this topic is about how long metal stand can last.... not how rust proof it is rite? Are we ? Metal can break wood but never the other way around...
  16. Phang... those are staghorns... if you want acros... take a look at this!!! Also shot in KK.
  17. And here's Tanzy... off Kota Kinabalu! Sorry for the blurred shot.. he was really far away and swimming fast... and he was my first sea turtle I ever saw underwater!
  18. I will have some info on that coming soon...
  19. As long as you treat your metal stand with an anti-rust compound, epoxy-paint and then paint over a few layers of paint.... you should have rust protection that lasts a long time.... unless you scratched it thru the paint and down to the metal. You dun see stainless steel ships in the sea... My stand is standard angle bar steel.... custom made made by my father-on-law who heads PSA operations. IMO rust is just an external thing... you can treat it. Metal stands are much much safer and stronger than wood. There is no need to panic.
  20. Is there any difference from using #1 sand and #2 sand while doing this? *straight face*
