Yeah... I was diving at the Tengku Abdul Rahman Marine Park in Kota Kinabalu. I was surprised at the variety of marine life there....! And that island I was on is known for interesting goby/pistol shrimp communities there. Anyway... I am the idiot behind the camera... a good camera!

LOL! Sorry... but that was funny. Tango is right! You do not want to clear away coralline algae! The black stuff may be some kind of encrusting sponge.... or it could be dinoflagellates... but black? hmmm.... can you zoom closer to get a clear shot?
