  1. Hi Vincegoh, Welcome to SRC, if you new to the hobby, we have a forum called New to the Hobby where there are a lot of links there for you to read. Including acronyms about 'SPS' and 'frags'.
  2. I dun get your title ie. Want a graph? I do know I want a frag of your orange monti cap! AT
  3. Well done Alvy, that must have been one hell of an engineering project! How much $$$ did you spend? Perhaps you can create a new thread and share with us your experiences! So do you have time for me now? I got some projects for you! LOL!
  4. Actually you can spell out the full name if you have general info to share or neutral things to say about our LFS. Some reefers may have bad experiences with LFS and should practice self-censorship if they can't hold back their words. Some people look for trouble with some LFS and sometimes trouble looks for SRC and I have been personally made responsible for such incidents. Thankfully, all past incidents have been settled amiably without resorting to violence.. haha. If you are bold enough slam the shop upside down, you should also be bold enough to put down your name and contact number! Or you can describe the shop location or mask their names so that only a mindreader will know who you are talking about. SRC is not associated with any LFS in any way. We are just hobbyists with no power & influence on how LFS choose to run their businesses. Except where we choose to open our wallets! Hahahaa! Joking.
  5. Strong enough to beat the head pressure and achieve the flow rate you want in your tank.
  6. why 1 week after? And not at the same time? Coral Clams, what's the logic and theory behind your advice?
  7. Robe, the salmon milli... who has the parent colony?
  8. depends on how poorly you take care of them.
  9. I don't think we condone the keeping of sea turtles as part of the Marine Aquarium hobby. I believe they are a protected species. People are trying hard to save them and why are people trying to keep them illegally? They need a lot of space, they eat lots of soft corals as part of their diet. Please do not KEEP sea turtles as pets.
  10. Definitely much cheaper. You lose the looks but functionality-wise, IMO, can be even better.
  11. I used to have a bright blue frag DIRECTLY under the water surface just below a 150w 10k bulb. It turned completely brown within 2 weeks. Yes, sps will survive but you will never get nice good colours from 150watts.
  12. Rumour... this thread is so old but it brought back so much memories of your 'reputation'! :D
  13. Your cycling period is still going thru the initial phases. Your nitrite will continue to build as the bacteria that processes toxic ammonia is still doing its work while the bacteria that processes nitrites to nitrates is still building up. Be patient. I usually recommend that all the LR should come in at one time to reduce ammonia spikes/mini-cycling. By introducing new ammonia sources from uncured LR, you are basically prolonging the completion of your nitrogen cycle.
  14. Thanks Mellow, I took a long time visualizing my tank, I was willing to give up some space to create the reef gully look with a 'swim-thru'! The left side is to simulate a steep reef wall, so I will be making the back part a monti / overhanging table acro alley. Glad you like it!
  15. Haha.. thanks... yeah finally filled up the 1/3 space.... still a work in progress.. knowing me... I will be doing some re-aquascaping until I am happy, then I'll allow my reef to grow naturally.
  16. Hon! You bought them on Sunday? Impulse buy? Tsk tsk!
  17. Moving this to the Marine Equipment forum.
