  1. Pospeh, well for someone who grew up there... I guess you would know better? I wouldn't say the majority of Americans I meet at work or online are jerks but the few that can be jerks can be rather BIG ones. Most are pretty humble folks. I guess being brought up as Americans, they can get very opinionated and not afraid to bring it to your face. I wouldn't say my bad experience was a racial thing... could be... may not be. I think its a case of strong opinions coupled with unreasonable antagonistic behaviour that brought things to a nasty end. Just a case of bad apples spoling the whole basket. I still like RC a lot, just not a few individuals there! If you like, I still have the link to that thread bookmarked somewhere... pm me to see for yourselves. AT
  2. Where are the frags from Central Singapore
  3. Simply... it puts calcium into your tank. Saves you daily dosing efforts.
  4. Cookiemonster is offering his DIY set now... rush rush!
  5. I was looking at the curly wurly green hard stringy algae... that one looks like chaetomorpha! It won't crash like a caulerpa. Try to pick a whole large chunk for your refugium... it'll work. Just be careful not to pick up parasites...
  6. Tanzy has a spawning pair of clowns... always breeding. I suspect that it has to do with the 4 streams in his tank. The clowns can't really swim around much due to the massive current so they stay together and with too much time on their fins...
  7. Well, I had a very very bad experience at RC a few years ago. Some people there (one of the co-founders, one mod and two hardliner members if I can remember) couldn't believe my old tank was real and accused me of setting it up just for photography. DUH??! My wife was equally upset as me at their ridiculous accusations. The comments about my tank being overstocked was fine. It may have been then. Then to call my tank a fake coz they don't see algae inside? Too clean?? They accused me of having a two-week old tank! LOL! Can you believe them? They also assumed my yellow tang was being starved to death just because his stomach was shrunken when I took the pix. They also took issue with my four tangs in my 5.5ft tank, even though I had them for a year and they were all fat and healthy even when I later sold them off to a LFS and to pass the remainder to Morgan when I upgraded to my current tank a year ago. I tried being patient explaining my tank... in the end, patient old me got sarcarstic and lost my cool coz the accusations from the Tang Police there got too much. Funny thing is that I got lots of compliments and support from other posters at RC but in the end, those mods and hardliners that attacked me, decided to ban me because I really gave them hell back and they used the excuse that I used the word 'damn' as a profanity to ban me in the end to silence me. Duh? Coming from USA, that word is pretty mild. All my friends who know me and have seen my tank in person, immediately wrote in to support me and defended me over their highhandedness... but guess what.. they too got edited or banned. Even my wife. LOL! Even a RC poster who stepped in to condemned their actions also got edited. What does that tell you? Well, its been so many years but this unpleasant saga has stayed on my mind. I respect RC for everything that it has taught me and the few friends I made but the flame culture and heavyhanded Ang Mo opinions is something I vowed never to happen in SRC. It's what turned a lot of overseas people off from sharing their tanks at RC. I am not sure that I am ready to reveal myself again for fear of being accused. Perhaps they can never believe the Asians are capable of having nice tanks. They do seem to think the worse of us... can't really blame them at times when you do see some of the HK overstocked tanks. 8. Hmm.... mature clams don't need phytoplankton to survive (meaning clams above 2 to 3 inches wide). Anything smaller are considered as juveniles and required regular feedings of live or frozen phytoplankton till they get larger. The bottled invert food is of dubious quality most times. Clams should be given as much light as possible for them to survive. For most clams to feel secure & protected from predators attacking from below such as large bristleworms, you can place them on a flat rock and once attached naturally via byssal threads (DON'T GLUE THEM ONTO THE ROCK!), you can move them up to any part of your rock structure for good lighting.
  9. Seriously bro, you have to research first before buying. You are wasting money and livestock due to incompatibility problems. Remember... responsible reefing starts with Knowledge! You can ask here first before buying... from what you tell me, it seems the LFS will say yes to anything you buy!
  10. Coz I am the bozz.... and I pinned it myself.... can? Unpinning and closing the sale offer coz buyer has been found! Thank you all! Sorry for the disappointment to those who enquired but I only have 1 set to sell!
  11. That's really cheap isn't it. Rush rush rush!
  12. There are other competing brands of such quality in the market. I was using Koralline/Schuran media and have no such PO4 issues. They are also highly rated... just not found in the US.
  13. Woah... two pms already! Reserved liao as I am arranging with the buyer(s).
  14. View? Sure... but I have already disconnected it and wash it already. Coz I am giving my whole piping system an acid flush to remove calcium deposits. So actually, nothing much to see.. when assembled above pix is what you get!
