  1. Surprised Bwilly didn't swipe everything yet!
  2. I hope you are providing a very large tank for an adult naso with streamers.... at least 6ft in length, preferable 8ft for it to be comfortably swimming without stress.
  3. Osmosis, I did a search on all the posts you have made and its quite clear to me that you are rather new to the hobby. Working for a LFS doesn't mean anything... in fact, there are quite a few lau chiao LFS people who still don't have a clue about how the nitrogen cycle works despite being in the business for more than a decade. Perhaps if you try to be a little more humble and open to learning.... we'll be more than happy to guide you along. You don't have to be so proud, you know. I'm still learning myself.
  4. Hose end of the connector or the part that is screwed inside the chiller?
  5. I'm also confused by what you're trying to say. Please do try to word yourself a little better by not using singlish online. Thanks! If you have diatoms, you have to improve your water quality first. Use Rowaphos or other good phosphate/silicate absorbers. You cannot expect coralline algae to grow overnight. Esp, if the rock surface is already colonised by other nuisance algae or bacteria. And no... that LR will not affect other LRs from growing coralline algae. Are you referring to detritus when you mention 'dust'? All LR will 'shed' detritus due to the workings of fish, snails, crabs, worms and other micro organisms.
  6. Cool!!!!! *drool* Wished I had that for the last paintball session.
  7. Spidey... I had to remove your avatar. It's offending to some people. Thanks. AT
  8. If its a commensual crab or shrimp... you don't have to remove it.
  9. I'm sorry but I really cannot understand what you are saying. Can you write in proper english please? Are you saying that its the spider? I'm telling you... sea spiders do not spin webs.
  10. Have you actually seen these spiders. Because even if sea spiders happen to enter your tank as hitchhikers (a rare event).... they do not spin webs at all. Some worms or snails do spew mucus webs to trap plankton & detritus, which they reel in and digest with the web.
  11. Nah... come on lah... just want to find out when I should launch a Speak Good English campaign amongst adult reefers in SRC. I got a call from the government to help out in this campaign after they have been monitoring the appalling amount of Singlish in SRC! Joking!
  12. Absolutely. And many of them feast on coral polyps & sponges exclusively. Only a few are known to eat algae and the most common is the lettuce nudibranch which is a uniform green or brown.
  13. Well, I'm sorry that you can't take light humour. Since you want to be serious, well... here goes. You're absolutely WRONG. There is no live rock around the world marketed as CORN STICKS. I have even verified with Coral Farm and they only sell Tonga Branches and Figi branch liverocks and have never used any other names to describe them. So it seems that this CORN STICK LIVE ROCK does not exist unless it was coined up by someone with a creative mind or who was quite hungry at that point of time. An apple by any name is still an apple. And FYI, LR is not 'alive' and they certainly DO NOT BLEED or get wounded. It is the living organisms on them that give them their name. So unless you can learn to describe accurately the exact condition of the LR, the term WOUNDED or BLEEDING does not apply to any form of LR. If you have mistaken the blood red patches on the LR as wounds, they are not... they are probably coralline algae. BTW & FYI, NO ONE will side me if I am talking nonsense, admin or not. If working in a LFS means you are always right and hobbyists cannot be right or know much lesser that LFS about the hobby... then you win already loh.
  14. Fress, Do you have a digital camera? Can you take some shots? Would like to take a look at the crab and the damaged coral. BTW, you know that such corals do not live very long in captive reef tanks... don't you?
  15. Go buy a Canon G2 so I can sell you my Ikelite G2 underwater casing!
  16. Sounds like nudibranchs. Can we have a photo ID just to be certain?
  17. 5200k is unsuitable for marine tanks... wrong spectrum.
  18. fressine... how old are you? Just curious... you can PM me if you want.
  19. Yeah... it happens. That was why I invested in a thermostat and contactors to shut off my MH once 29C is reached in my tank. Just pray and hope that your SPS corals will no longer be stressed and recover soon.
  20. You mean it was ON the cauliflower, maybe between two branches? Or is there a HOLE in in where the crab is? Please describe a little better. What does it look like?
  21. Never heard of such things. You sure?
  22. Dispar_anthias, As a member of the Tang family... I declare that you have no right or authority to start a paramilitary organisation of any sort regarding the Acanthurus, Paracanthurus, Ctenochaetus & Zebrasoma species BECAUSE you are just a simple anthia who have no idea about our lifestyles. Go back to hovering above your coral head... we tangs have a lot of ocean to cover to bother getting ourselves involved in any sort of Tang Police organisation. We are quite busy already running the Tang Quartet and Tang Dynasty Performing Troupe. Tangs alot! Achilles Tang on behalf of the other Tangs in SRC.
