  1. I doubt it will do anything for shrimp survivability.
  2. Well.... because its a sand burrower... it may disrupt a DSB's denitrication capability if it burrows too deep. Which is why long ago... I placed a netting 3 inches deep in my 6 inch DSB. Just in case... I do get a sandburrowing wrasse!
  3. Which liquid coral food did you buy? I personally have given up on liquid coral food years ago because they usually have poor or dubious nutritional value and usually end up polluting your tank. Mushrooms and buttons do not need feeding.. they will uptake nutrients from the water (which is usually available in large amounts for most hobby tanks). Maybe an occasional dosage of iodide supplements.
  4. Pixie? You mean a falco hawkfish? Does it look like this? Excellent pix from reefimages showing a hawkfish eating a shrimp!
  5. Max, I'm interested in one! More info on leopard wrasses here. Interesting fish... I'm just slightly worried whether all the baby snails will be spared or not. And if my pod population will be enough because I have a mandarin and a scooter blenny too. Hmmm....
  6. It's extremely slim chance for shrimps to survive long term with a predator fish like hawkfish around. Once they are large enough to fit inside their mouths... bye bye shrimp. Like eaquarist said.... you have to decide. I love hawkfishes too... but I like my shrimps more!
  7. Wooooot!!! This was the pix of Kelly that knocked the wind of my sails!
  8. Well... kelly's a babe... but I still don't know her surname!!
  9. Get a very good skimmer... and half's the battle won. Next, get Rowaphos, the best Phosphate remover so far. Next, stop overfeeding/overstocking... control the input of nutrients.
  10. Nope. I quit my job recently. Been there 4 years. Going no where, time to move on or attract flies. Doing some project work now in the meantime while in between jobs. If it does well... maybe I'll pursue it fulltime... kinda like Alvy... hahaha!!!
  11. Starve them? Anthias need to be fed a few times a day or they will lose weight. From the list of commonly sold anthias = from the easiest to hardest (in my experience), baring any problems with poor acclimatization, possible cynanide poisoning... bartlett dispar squarespot sunburst purple queen Purple queens are beautiful but they are the hardest to keep alive... which is a pity. Bartletts are expensive but worth every cent for their colour and that they are not fussy fish... everything also whack!
  12. Open house.... hmmm.... actually, if you guys want to drop in anytime... just buzz me a day before. I'm working from home now... so no prob! AT
  13. Errr... what saying you? Thanks for the compliments... time for me to visit your tank too!
  14. Could it be all attributed only to the lighting change? Did you do anything else to your tank?
  15. As of right now, the Space Commissioner is keeping a close watch on things. We can't have another shuttle episode so soon. Waiting for George Bush to approve another 1.2 billion to the Space Budget. Sigh... looks like a long long wait though.
  16. Why? She probably just put on a bit of weight then!
  17. Ah... the joys of culturing...been there, done that! Too bad I gave it up.... Gone too lazy already...hahaha.... my live rotifers are replaced by GPs, BBS by frozen Cyclop-eze, my live phtyo by DT's! Keep it up man!! AT
  18. I'll just waiting for the End of the World. Should be just around the corner... so play hard and reef hard!
  19. I hope you really know that Tanzy's a guy... you sound positively gay when you say "Ny chio tanzy!" and "SHE's not chio meh"
  20. Don't kaypo leh... no chio gals here...
