  1. I have sponges growing like crazy... you have to feed them with phytoplankton. And what the other guys here have rightly pointed out... watch the water quality or nuisance algae will grow on them and kill them. Most of the sponges sold in the hobby trade are non-photosynthetic. The blue ones are mildly photosynthetic but can be shaded with no problems. They must have access to good water current as it is the only means for them to get food and remove wastes.
  2. Check to see if its the whole piece or just an empty shell. Crabs molt all the time.
  3. LOL! Those are Camel Spiders. What you see there are two spiders together, dangling. They are found in arid locales all over the world — including the southwestern United States — not just in the Gulf region. A typical specimen can grow to about the size of a child's hand, but, though they are known for being vicious predators (see video), camel spiders are neither venomous nor a threat to human beings. They don't eat camels, either. Video on Camel Spiders
  4. Good to hear more reviews about this chiller. It should be about time some new products comes along to knock another off the throne! Some things just don't deserve to be up there.
  5. WOW!! What wonderful shots your friend took!! He saw a few things I didn't get to see at Sipadan!
  6. Hey... i restart and restart.. even my modem got restarted... and our PCs too... I suspect something else.. sigh.
  7. Flub... you were there? I think you should not spend money on such a mask until you are ok with using an ordinary one first. Its not US$80... its about S$200 at Exhibition offer prices. It certainly looks interesting... I think I highlighted this mask before in the SRC scuba forum... its still very new. Wow... you squeeze the guy for the Radiator gloves to $25?? You'll still the number one bargain aunty!
  8. I don't think it is her access card. We have used it everywhere in the house... and no probs. But the router sometimes will not transmit any internet data... but when I plug in the modem direct to my pc, my internet access is working fine. *puzzled*
  9. So give us a tip/... at which point do you elevate the spear?
  10. I was there on Sat and there again on Sun, all towards closing time from 3plus onwards. Regarding the sale... it was a sale... haha... any good explanation for this?
  11. My Accton cheetahaccess AC-IG2004W is giving me problems... sometimes it will drop off internet access to my wife's laptop and mine... how to solve this?
  12. I was introduced to the Oceanic boss... the wetsuits were selling very cheaply! Eyes popped out when he told me the retail price. Anyway, the designs are quite nice... my wife even when to try... long queue man... luckily, that meant that I could walk around a lot faster and see more things!! Bumped into Lona and Kelstorm there! AT
  13. Moving out to FOWLR forum. Angels are not reef-safe.
  14. Enough flow to see it being moved, not too fast that it is being forced out of the reactor or being eroded into tiny particles and get forced out. A visible gentle 'bubbling' of the media is enough. I have a ball valve to control water flow.
  15. Woah... cost twice as much as a Beckett! But it does look good... how's the skimming so far?
  16. Whatever the case, check your canister. For max efficiency, water should be forced from below and pushed up the cylinder and exited at the top, that way... every grain of media will be pushed and tumbled.
  17. Cool! I found a great link where the pros and cons of both becketts and mazzeis are discussed here!
  18. Eheim 1260? I thought the correct application is to use a pressure-rated pump like the Beckett? Which Mazzei size did you get? I hear they are expensive too!
  19. Check out what the reefers in RC are saying about Mazzei venturi and beckett fountainheads here.
