You wouldn't believe it but I had the very same idea! My wife thought I was mad when I spent like 15 mins staring hard at this tupperware at Tangs. Gave the idea up coz I really liked the professional look of the Reef Maniac series...

That's BS! There should be enough gas supplies in Singapore to ensure the power station generators are running for at least a few days. Are we that dependant on regular gas supplies that a turn of the gas tap and the economy of Singapore grinds to a halt?

CTE is blacked out from Braddel to AMK. Sengkang is blacked out too from my friend. Across the street, Bishan is blacked out too. My area's untouched.

I agree with Linkin Park. IMO, the refugium in practical usage is of some risk that has proven itself to come true over time. You CANNOT guarantee that whatever algae grows in there will not migrate to your main tank and WILL NOT crash. I rather trust a true and tested exporter like a good skimmer rather than trust a 'temporary sponge' that will 'leach' back whatever it has absorbed when it decides to 'go up the lorry'. Sometimes it will add even more bad stuff like caulerpin. Adding nutrients like iron into the water may fuel unwanted algae to grow. Its quite hard to maintain a perfect refugium long-term IMO. Maybe if you choose a 'perfect' macroalgae species like chaetomorpha that won't crash or have toxins like caulerpa.

From my experience, there will be a higher level of corrosion on metal fittings around the house. Even my speaker's wire connection is now green. Anything iron is now rusted. I should have used a layer of oil on all such bits to protect them. Thank goodness I use mostly aluminium for my furnishings. There is no mould on my walls... I doubt if mould due to humidity will ever be a problem.... unless your house has a consistently MUCH higher level of humidity compared to the surrounding ambient air. Just move into the coastal areas and it wouldn't matter if you have a marine tank! LOL!
